UPSC SO/Steno Books 2021: The Union Public Service Commission conducts the UPSC SO Steno exam. This examination is held to recruit eligible citizens for the post of grade -B post of Section Officer and Stenographer. The aspirants willing to take up the exam can visit the official website of UPSC i.e. upsc.gov.in and fill in the application form. Preparation Tips 2021 for UPSC SO/Steno

The planning for the UPSC SO / Stenographer Recruitment 2021 exam is comparatively different from other competitive exams. This is different because the aspirants need to put their typing skills to the test too along with the written exam. Therefore, this article has come up with some useful tips for the aspirants preparing for the UPSC SO / Stenographer exam.

  • Firstly ,the candidate needs to make a proper preparation plan . The candidate must always remember the exam pattern and syllabus. Paper 1 is based on General Study and General Knowledge and carries  150 marks in total. Likewise , Paper 2 is based on the process and practices by the Indian government secretary’s office. Start going with the basics and then slowly elevate the preparation.
  • The candidate needs to understand government-similar Secretariat functions in order to prepare , use diagrams and flowcharts for better understanding . In this way, the aspirants can remember and memorize the answers easily without much effort.
  • The candidate must use a varied range of study materials to catch hold of different answers that can  be formed during examination. In addition to preparation books and guides, utilize other resources such as readymade notes, reference books, and practice paper etc.
  • Prioritize using the previous year’s question papers as this gives the candidate an idea on how the question paper is set. By solving it like the official examination boosts the candidate and also the candidate will get to his/her preparation status. 

About UPSC

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts SO/Steno examinations to shortlist eligible candidates for the grade -B post of Section Officer and Stenographer. They are hired in various government sectors and offices. This exam is conducted only once a year. Candidates meeting all the eligibility criteria will apply. This is an offline examination and is handled by the UPSC itself.
