UPSC CSE (IAS) Admit Card 2026: Prelims, Mains, Interview Letter

No UPSC Civil Services admit card is pending for CSE 2026 right now: the Prelims e-Admit Card was uploaded on 15 May 2026, and the Mains e-Admit Card was used for the papers held on 21–23 and 29–30 August 2026. The next call letter is the e-Summon Letter for the Personality Test (Interview), which follows the Mains written result. UPSC issues all of them online only.

Where is the UPSC CSE e-Admit Card issued?

Under the CSE 2026 Examination Notice, eligible candidates get the e-Admit Card on the last working day of the week before the examination, on upsconline.nic.in, and no admit card is sent by post or email. Candidates who changed their scribe up to seven days before the exam get it three days before the exam. If it has not arrived by that last working day, contact UPSC at once through the Facilitation Counter or helpdesk 011-24041001; if UPSC hears nothing at least three days before the exam, non-receipt is the candidate's own responsibility.

The Mains e-Admit Card is generated only for Prelims qualifiers who log in during the post-result window and submit the form. For CSE 2026 that window ran from 19 June to 29 June 2026 (6:00 p.m.), and candidates who skipped it are barred from further stages. Non-exempt candidates also paid the Mains fee of Rs. 200 in this window.

What should you check on the e-Admit Card?

UPSC asks candidates to confirm that the Name, Photograph and QR Code on the e-Admit Card are correct; the name may appear abbreviated for technical reasons. For Prelims 2026, discrepancies were to be emailed immediately to [email protected]. If the photograph is not clear, bring a photo identity card and two passport-size photographs, one for each session, and sign an undertaking. The 15 May 2026 press note also says the e-Admit Card must be preserved until the final result of CSE 2026.

Exam-day rules UPSC set for CSE 2026

• Entry closes 30 minutes before each session: 9:00 a.m. for the forenoon and 2:00 p.m. for the afternoon session at Prelims. UPSC advised arriving about one and a half hours early for face authentication, identity verification and frisking.
• Carry the printed e-Admit Card and the photo ID whose number is printed on it, for every session. The notice accepts Aadhaar, Voter Card (EPIC), PAN, Passport, Driving Licence or another State/Central Government photo ID.
• Only the e-Admit Card, pen, pencil, ID proof and self-photographs may be taken in. Mobile phones (even switched off), smart watches, bags and books are banned, and there is no safe-keeping at the venue. Violations can lead to cancellation of candidature, an FIR and exclusion from later sessions.
• Bring a black ball point pen; the OMR answer sheet and attendance list must be filled with it. A simple wrist watch is allowed.
• You may sit only at the venue printed on your e-Admit Card.
• For Mains 2026, a UPSC notice asked candidates to bring two recent passport-size photographs to each session, for an undertaking if face authentication fails or the original ID is missing.

Interview e-Summon Letter

After the Mains result, qualifiers get a 15-day window to update details and upload proof of their degree; those who miss it get no e-Summon Letter. In the CSE 2025 cycle the result came on 11 November 2025 and the window ran from 13 to 27 November 2025. The Mains 2025 result notice says e-Summon Letters are downloaded from upsc.gov.in and upsconline.gov.in, no paper summon letter is issued, and interviews are held at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi. Original certificates of age, education, community, EWS and PwBD status are checked at the interview.
