Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility (APTET)
The Department of School Education, AP conducts Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET). The test is conducted to qualify aspirants for the post of a teacher (from Class I to Class VIII) in all schools (Government/ ZP/ MP/ Municipal/ Recognised Private Aided & Private Unaided etc.) in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The test comprises of two exams, that is, Paper I and Paper II. Candidates applying to be appointed as teachers from Class I to Class V (Primary) need to qualify in Paper-I whereas those applying for Class VI to Class VIII (Elementary), need to qualify in Paper-II.

AP TET Exam Pattern
The structure and content of the TET is given below. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying 01 Mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer is correct. There is no negative marking in the AP TET exam.
There are 02 papers for the AP TET exam. Paper-I is for those who intend to be a teacher of Classes I to V while Paper-II is for those who intend to be a teacher of Classes VI to VIII. A person who intends to be a Teacher either for Classes I to V or for Classes VI to VIII must appear and qualify in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II). Important points about syllabus of Paper I
- CDP section will have questions on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant for primary classes.
- Language I and II syllabi tests your proficiency, knowledge of language elements, communication, comprehension, all upto class X.
- Mathematics and EVS syllabi consist of topics from class I to V. However difficulty and linkages of topics could be upto class X.
Important points about syllabus of Paper II-A, II-B
- CDP section will have questions on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant for elementary level for II-A, and physical education pedagogy of II-B will also be for elementary level.
- Language I and II syllabi shall assess your proficiency, knowledge of language elements, communication, comprehension, all upto class XII.
- Physical Education teachers’ syllabi of language I and II shall assess language skills upto class VII.
