CTET 2018 – Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on September 16, 2018. Candidates planning to apply for teaching jobs until class 8th, must qualify CTET and get CTET Eligibility Certificate. There are two papers in CTET 2018. The Paper I is for candidates aiming to teach class 1 to 5. Whereas, candidates targeting teaching class 6 to 8 will have to clear Paper 2 of CTET 2018.

The CTET 2018 online applications were supposed to release on June 22, 2018. However, a delay has been notified by the Board. The new date for the release of application form will be announced soon. CTET 2018

Candidates should note the important dates of CTET 2018 carefully. They should apply online as per important dates mentioned in the schedule. Issuance of CTET 2018 admits card will also be as per dates announced. All candidates must appear in the CTET exam as per date and time given in important dates and their admit card.

CTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who fulfill CTET 2018 Eligibility Criteria must only apply. There is no age limit. You only need to have the specific educational qualification.

For paper 1

In order to appear in CTET 2018 Paper 1, you should have any one of these qualifications. You can be passed or appearing in latest qualification (D.El.Ed / B.El.Ed / D.Ed Special Education).

  • 50% at least in class 12 and then 2-year D.El.Ed.
  • 45% at least in class 12 and then 2-year D.El.Ed in accordance with NCTE regulations 2002.
  • 50% at least in class 12 and then 4-year B.El.Ed.
  • 50% at least in class 12 and then 2-year D.Ed (Special Education).
  • Graduation and then 2-year D.El.Ed.

For paper 2

In order to appear in CTET 2018 Paper 2, you should have any one of these qualifications. You can be passed or appearing in latest qualification (D.El.Ed / B.El.Ed / D.Ed Special Education).

  • After graduation, 2-year D.El.Ed.
  • 50% at least in graduation and then 1-year B.Ed.
  • 45% at least in graduation and then 1-year B.Ed in accordance with NCTE.
  • 50% at least in class 12 and then 4-year B.El.Ed.
  • 50% at least in class 12 and then 4-year BA / BSc Ed or BAEd / BScEd.
  • Graduation with at least 50% and then 1-year B.Ed (Special Education).

SC, ST, OBC, differently abled candidates get 5% relaxation in qualifying marks in minimum educational qualification.

CTET 2018 Application Form

Candidates can apply online for CTET 2018. CBSE will release CTET form as per schedule. There is a window of almost one month to apply at official website ctet.nic.in. One can also check application status after applying.

Things to keep ready before filling CTET 2018 online application form: Before applying, the candidates should keep ready latest photograph and signature in JPG format and scanned copy of the class Xth certificate.

CTET 2018 Application Fee: The amount of application fee is:

  • Rs. 700 for UR and OBC candidates (if applying for only Paper 1 or 2).
  • Rs. 1200 for UR and OBC candidates (if applying for both Paper 1 and 2).
  • Rs. 350 for SC/ST/Differently Abled Person (if applying for either Paper 1 or 2).
  • Rs. 600 for SC/ST/Differently Abled Person (if applying for both Paper 1 and 2).

The candidates can submit the amount of application fee through Debit / Credit Card or Net Banking or Challan for Syndicate Bank / Canara Bank.

CTET 2018 Exam Pattern

Mode of exam: CTET is until now, a pen and paper-based exam.
Language: The exam will be held in Hindi and English language. Candidates will have to state their choice for the language in the application form.

Questions: All questions in Central Teacher Eligibility Test will be of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Marking Scheme: Each question will carry one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

  • CTET 2018 Paper 1 is for those planning to teach class 1 to 5 (primary).
  • CTET 2018 Paper 2 will be for those planning to teach class 6 to 8 (elementary).
  • A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels will have to appear in both the papers.

Duration: The duration of the examination is 2 hours and 30 minutes. However, differently, able candidates will get a compensation time of 50 minutes.

CTET 2018 Admit Card

The admit card of CTET 2018 will be available only on the official website. The candidates will not be able to download or get via any other mode. Candidates will have to enter application number and password to download it. After getting the admit card, the candidates should check all the details in it. If there is any discrepancy in the CTET admit card then the candidates need to get it corrected by informing CTET unit.

Along with the admit card of CTET 2018, the candidates will also have to carry one photo Idproofv. A valid photo Id can be PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Ration Card, Voter ID Card, Driving Licence etc. The allocated exam center and other details will be mentioned in the admit card. Candidates need to reach 90 minutes before the examination. Candidates without the admit card shall not get the permission to take the exam.

CTET 2018 Exam Center

CTET 2018 Answer Key

Since CTET is an offline examination, various coaching institutes and CBSE will release the answer key for it. The answer key will contain answers to questions asked in the exam. Coaching institutes will release the answer key on the exam day, few hours after it ends. Whereas, CBSE will provide the answer key later on.

With the answer key, the Board will also upload the OMR of the candidates. Candidates can use these to predict their score in the exam. The candidates can also get a photocopy of the OMR by paying Rs. 500 via Demand Draft. The DD is to be prepared in favor of Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education and has to be drawn via any Nationalized Bank, payable at Delhi.

CTET 2018 Cutoff

The cutoff of CTET 2018 is 60%. Candidates who will score upto or more than 60% marks will be considered qualified and will get the CTET eligibility certificate.

CTET 2018 Result

CBSE announces CTET Result after the completion of Eligibility Test. Candidates will be able to check their CTET Result 2018 online. The Validity Period of Central Teacher Eligibility Test qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories.

Central government schools (like KVS, NVS) and schools under control of the UTs consider the CTET Certificate as eligibility for teacher recruitment. Other schools that may do the same include unaided private schools, state government schools (state govt schools could consider state TET if that state holds a separate TET).

CTET Eligibility Certificate 2018

Candidates who will qualify Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be issued certificates. The certificates will define that the candidate is eligible to be a teacher in respective class.

  • The certificates will only be issued to those candidates who will score more than 60% marks.

The CTET Eligibility Certificate will be sent via Speed Post but the CTET Marks Statement will be sent through Ordinary Post.

Validity Period of CTET certificate: The certificate of CTET is valid for a period of 7 years, from the date of result announcement. The candidates may get their CTET certificates renewed after the lapse of the deadline, by qualifying the exam.

Candidates who have a valid score in CTET may also re-appear for the examination to improve their score. Candidates seeking duplicate Marks Statement or Eligibility Certificate will have to pay a certain fee of Rs. 200 (+Rs. 30 bank charges). The amount of fee can be paid via Demand Draft, in favour of Secretary Central Board of Secondary Education. It has to be drawn at any nationalized bank and has to be payable at Delhi.
