CTET Exam Pattern 2026 – Marking Scheme, Sections, Negative Marking

CTET Exam Pattern 2026 is announced by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). You can know the complete CTET examination scheme here to prepare for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test. The exam pattern of CTET indicates subjects, number of questions, marking scheme, mode, duration, negative marking for CTET 2026 question paper. Therefore it is important to know this scheme along with syllabus before appearing in the CTET 2026.

CTET Exam Pattern 2026

The exam pattern is as follows for this Teacher Eligibility Test, as per the CTET September 2026 Information Bulletin.

  • Mode of exam: Offline (pen and paper, OMR sheet)
  • Type of questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), 4 options each, one correct answer
  • Marking scheme: 1 mark per correct answer; no negative marking
  • Number of questions/marks: 150 MCQs / 150 marks per paper
  • Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes per paper
  • Language of question paper: Bilingual (Hindi/English), with 27 language options for Language I & II
