How to fill UPSC Application Form 2022? – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has closed the IAS application form 2022 window. Candidates can apply for the post of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) through the website upsc.gov.in. UPSC releases a common application form for IAS and IFS exam. Aspirants have to mark their preference of examination while applying. The application fee for the UPSC CSE exam is Rs. 100/- female candidates, SC/ ST candidates and PwD need not have to pay the application fee.

How to fill UPSC Application Form 2022?

Aspirants who fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria can submit IAS application form online. The step by step process on how to apply for UPSC IAS 2022 exam is explained below.

Step 1: Go to the official website of UPSC,  upsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Scroll down and find the ‘Apply Online’ tab. Click on it.

Step 3: Select the link for ‘Online Application for Various Examinations’.

Step 4: Choose the examination for which the candidates wish to apply and click on the ‘Part 1 Registration’ link corresponding to the exam.

Step 5: Candidates will be able to see important instructions relating to the exam. Read them carefully and Select ‘Yes’.

Step 6: Enter candidate’s personal details, education qualifications and address. Click on the ‘Continue’ button.

Step 7: Against the ‘Claiming age relaxation’ bar, select ‘Yes’ if the candidate belongs to a reserved category. Now, choose the relevant category. Otherwise, select ‘No’ and click on ‘Continue’.

Step 8: Next, aspirants have to enter the identity card details. Along with that, they have to select exam centre, number of attempts for IAS/ IFS exam. 

Step 9: In the next section, candidates will be able to preview the details they have entered. Check the details and select ‘Update’. Enter the captcha text and click on ‘I agree’.

Step 10: Now, candidates will be able to print the Part 1 Registration form or continue to Part 2 Registration.

Step 11: For Part 2 Registration, login with Registration ID and Date of Birth.

Step 12: After payment, candidates have to upload a scanned photocopy of their passport size photograph, signature and Photo ID proof. Enter other details and click on ‘Continue’.

Step 13: Now, candidates will be able to select their exam city preferences. Read the declaration and click on the  ‘I have read the declaration and I agree’ button. 

Step 14: The application process is complete. Candidates can print this form for future purposes.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC IAS Prelims Exam 2022

check the UPSC IAS eligibility criteria below:

  1. Nationality: Only Indian citizens can apply to the post of IAS.
  2. Age limit: All candidates should satisfy a minimum age limit of  21 years. The maximum age limit for candidates of unreserved category is 32 years. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category, the maximum age limit is 37 years and for OBC candidates the age limit is 35 years. For PwD, the maximum age limit is 42 years.
  3. Educational qualification: Candidates should possess at least a valid undergraduate degree from a government recognised university.
  4. Number of attempts: General category (6 attempts); OBC (9 attempts); SC/ ST candidates and PwD (Unlimited attempts).

The Prelims exam is to be conducted on June 5, 2022. The admit card will be released 3 weeks prior to the exam date. Candidates will be able to download the same from the official website upsc.gov.in. The Prelims exam will be held in 73 cities across the country. Candidates who qualify the exam will be shortlisted for Stage 2 Mains exam, which includes a written exam and the interview stage.
