HPCL is the second largest producer of pipelines in India with a pipeline network of more than 3370 Kms for transportation of petroleum products. It also has a vast marketing network which consists of 13 zonal offices in major cities and 106 regional offices facilitated by a supply and distribution infrastructure comprising terminals, pipeline networks, aviation service stations, LPG bottling plants, Lube and LPG Distributorships.

Major Ongoing Projects:

For modernising HPCL and increasing its strength, it has developed ambitious plans for expansion and diversification in the areas where there is an increase in demand for energy or technological up gradation needed.here is a brief of the major ongoing projects in this area:

  • Vikash Refinery Modernisation Project:

    The main objective of this project is to modernise and enhance the capacity of existing Vikash refinery from 8.33 MMTPA to 15 MMTPA at Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.The cost of the project is 20928 crores and scheduled mechanical completion is July 2020.

  • Mumbai Refinery Expansion Project:

    The main objective of the project is to enhance the capacity of existing refinery at Mumbai, Maharashtra from 7.5 MMTPA to 9.5 MMTPA. The cost of the project is 4199 crores and scheduled completion is 36 months from the date of environmental clearance.

  • Shikrapur LPG Pipeline Project:

    The objective of the project is to reduce the Bulk LPG tanker movement along with roads between Mumbai and Pune. The cost of the project is 462.79 crores.

  • VVSPL Capacity Expansion and OOTT-SS Jetty Subsea Pipeline Project:

    The main objective of the project is to increase the strength from 5.3 MMTPA to 8 MMTPA by the construction of 8 additional pump stations at Vizag, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, and Suryapet.The cost of the project is 407 Crores and schedule of completion is 15 September 2019.

  • MDPL Capacity Expansion and Palanpur Vadodara Pipeline Extension Project:

    The objective is to increase the capacity from 5 MMTPA to 8 MMTPA by adding new pump stations.The c ost of the project is 879 crores and scheduled completion is by March 2020.

  • Ramanmandi Bahadurgarh Pipeline Capacity Expansion Project:

    The main objective is to increase the capacity from 4.7 MMTPA to 7.1 MMTPA. The total cost of the project is 230 Crs and project completion is scheduled for March 2019.
