Rail Coach Factory Recruitment 2020 Selection Procedure
Candidates must fill the application form online to be considered for recruitment. The authorities shortlist the candidates on the basis of their class 10 and ITI marks. A merit list is prepared by calculating average of candidates’ marks in matriculation and ITI. Marks of all the subjects in matric are considered for this purpose, not just of a particular subject or group of subjects. Marks mentioned in provisional/final certification of ITI are taken into account for calculation of marks.
Tie-Breaking Criteria: If marks of 2 or more candidates, calculated using the above process, are same, a tie-breaker is followed. Priority is given in the following order:
- Age is taken into account. Candidate with higher age is preferred.
- If the tie case still persists, the candidate who passed the class 10 exam earlier is preferred.
After implementing the tie-breaker, a final merit list is prepared trade-wise and community-wise. Candidates in the merit list are invited for document verification. The candidates must produce original documents along with medical certificate and caste certificate, if applicable.
Training and Stipends
The candidates whose names appear in the merit list are selected for training at Technical Training Centre, Rail Coach Factory (Kapurthala). The length of training period is decided by the Railway Board as per its rules and norms. Also, the stipends offered during training period are as per the directives of the Railway Board. The candidates have to make their own arrangement for accommodation during the training period. Indian Railways do not provide hostel accommodation to the selected candidates. If the selected candidate is a minor, his/her guardian has to sign a Contract of Apprenticeship with the Railway Board.
