SBI Clerk Result 2026: Prelims Result Status, Mains in November

The SBI Clerk 2026 Preliminary result had not been published as of 27 October 2026: SBI's current-openings page still showed the Preliminary call-letter status for Advertisement CRPD/CR/2026-27/17. The advertisement puts the Main exam tentatively in November 2026, so the Preliminary result, which is the shortlist for the Main, is the next thing to watch for.

How the SBI Clerk result works, stage by stage

Preliminary result: a shortlist for the Main

No minimum qualifying marks are prescribed for individual tests or for the aggregate in the Preliminary, and section-wise marks are not maintained. Candidates are arranged in descending order of aggregate marks, and approximately 10 times the vacancies in each category are shortlisted for the Main. In the 2025-26 cycle SBI paired the Preliminary result with a "Marks Secured by the Candidate (Phase-I)" login that asks for your Roll Number or Registration Number and Date of Birth.

Main result: the final result

There is no interview. Only the aggregate marks in the Main count, and the merit list is drawn state-wise and category-wise for the State you applied to. You need the minimum aggregate percentage the Bank decides (with 5% relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, XS and DXS candidates), and Preliminary marks are not added. SBI publishes this as a "Final result" PDF of roll numbers of provisionally selected candidates; for 2025-26 it was dated 27 February 2026, after a Main exam on 21 November 2025.

Local language test and verification

Provisional selection is subject to verification of your eligibility and to the specified local language test, which is held after the Main but before joining. If your 10th or 12th standard mark sheet shows you studied that language, you do not take the test; candidates who fail it are not offered appointment. Junior Associates cannot seek an inter-circle or inter-state transfer before completing 5 years of service.

After the result: the wait list

SBI keeps a wait list of up to 50% of vacancies, state-category wise. Candidates are released from it on a quarterly basis against non-joining and resignation in the current batch, subject to minimum qualifying marks, and the list is valid for one year from the declaration of the final result. In practice, the 2025-26 first wait list came on 18 June 2026, and SBI posted first, second and third wait lists for the 2024-25 recruitment.
