What does each CMS result tell you?
Written result
A PDF of roll numbers qualified for the Interview/Personality Test, with a name-wise list uploaded the same day. Their candidature is provisional, and original certificates of age, education, community and disability must be produced at the Personality Test. In CMS 2025, written-stage standards were subject to a minimum of 25% marks in each paper (10% for PwBD candidates).
Final result
Separate merit lists for Category-I (Medical Officers in the GDMO Sub-cadre of the Central Health Service, 864 vacancies in 2026) and Category-II (Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways, 450; GDMO in NDMC, 14; GDMO Grade-II in MCD, 30). It is based on the written examination (500 marks) followed by the Personality Test (100 marks). Appointment follows the order of merit and the preferences given; a candidate who indicates no preference is not considered for service allocation. For CMS 2025, the final result recommended 363 candidates in Category-I and 449 in Category-II, with a consolidated Category-II reserve list of 60.
How are ties broken?
Marks are rounded off to two decimal digits at every stage, and the rounded marks are used to resolve ties:
- Higher marks in the written total.
- If equal, the candidate senior in age.
- If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who completed the internship earlier.
- Any remaining tie is resolved at the Commission's discretion.
When are marks available?
The 1 September 2026 result notice says mark-sheets are uploaded after the final result and remain online for 30 days, opened with roll number and date of birth. Printed copies are sent on request with a self-addressed stamped envelope, if asked within 30 days of the marks going online. For CMS 2025, the cut-off marks went up on 26 December 2025 and the marks of recommended candidates on 30 December 2025.
What happens after the final result?
- Pre-appointment checks: appointment depends on the Government being satisfied about character and antecedents, on completion of the compulsory rotating internship, and on a physical examination.
- Provisional candidates: in CMS 2025, the candidature of 353 recommended candidates was provisional, and they had six months from the final result to submit original documents.
- Reserve list: the CMS 2025 reserve list was uploaded on 25 June 2026. Details of interviewed but non-recommended candidates who consented go on the PRATIBHA Setu portal only after the reserve list is utilised.
