IBPS Clerk Admit Card 2026: CSA-XVI Call Letter, Exam Rules

The IBPS Clerk (CRP CSA-XVI) Preliminary call letter was due in September, 2026 under the notification schedule, for a Preliminary Examination that the IBPS calendar dated 16.01.2026 set for 10 and 11 October 2026. The next call letter is for the Main Examination, which the IBPS calendar has scheduled for 27 December 2026. Under the notification schedule, it is due in November, 2026, for candidates shortlisted from the Preliminary result.

How is the IBPS Clerk call letter downloaded?

Clause Q of the CRP CSA-XVI notification says the call letter is downloaded from www.ibps.in by entering the Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth. No hard copy of the call letter or Information Handout is sent by post or courier. Intimations go by email and/or SMS to the email ID and mobile number given in the application. Candidates who opted for a scribe fill in the scribe's details while downloading the call letter, then download and print the scribe declaration form.

What is on the call letter, and which centre will you get?

The call letter states the centre, venue address, date and time. The reporting time printed on it comes before the start of the test, and anyone arriving after it is turned away. The notification lets IBPS allot a centre outside the State/UT for which you applied, and no request for a change of centre is entertained. Queries and complaints go through cgrs.ibps.in.

The Preliminary call letter is not collected at the venue. Exam officials authenticate and stamp it, with the photocopy of your ID, and return it. Candidates called for the Main must bring this stamped call letter and stamped ID copy along with the Main call letter. Without them, they will not be allowed to take the Main.

Exam-day rules for IBPS Clerk 2026

• What to carry: the CSA-XVI Preliminary Information Handout asks for the call letter with your photograph pasted on it, a photocopy of your photo ID stapled to it, the same ID in original, and 1 extra photograph. It calls these essential.
• Accepted ID: PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving License, Voter's Card with photograph, Bank Passbook with photograph, Aadhaar/E-Aadhaar card with a photograph, Employee ID and similar documents. Ration Card and Learner's Driving License are not accepted, and the name must exactly match the call letter.
• Time at the venue: the Preliminary lasts 60 minutes, but the handout says to expect about 150 minutes at the venue. The Main lasts 125 minutes, and the notification says to expect about 3 hours or more.
• Rough work: bring a ball-point pen. Sheets are provided; write your Registration Number, Roll No., name and exam date on them and hand them back before leaving.
• Biometrics and Aadhaar: the photograph and biometric data (right thumb impression) may be captured at different stages, and IBPS and the banks may run online Aadhaar verification.
• Banned items (Clause O): calculators, pen drives, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, health bands, goggles, handbags, belts, caps, any watch, any metallic item, and any food or water bottle.

What about the language test?

There is no interview in CRP CSA-XVI. The stage after the Main is the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT). It is held after the Main or provisional allotment but before joining, and is conducted by an independent body or by the bank. Candidates who produce a 10th standard or higher mark sheet or certificate showing they studied the opted language do not have to take the test.
