IBPS RRB Officer — the Common Recruitment Process for Regional Rural Banks — Officers Scale I, II and III — is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to recruit for Officer Scale I (Assistant Manager), Officer Scale II — General Banking Officer and the specialist cadres of Information Technology, Chartered Accountant, Law, Treasury Manager, Marketing and Agriculture — and Officer Scale III (Senior Manager). The CRP RRBs-XV (2026-27) cycle declares 5,535 officer vacancies as on 25 September 2026 (indicative) — 4,256 Officer Scale I, 1,059 Officer Scale II (General Banking and specialist cadres) and 220 Officer Scale III, declared bank-wise for each participating Regional Rural Bank.

What counts towards the final merit

For Scale I, only the Main Examination and Interview count. For Scale II and III the Single Online Examination and Interview count. Merit is drawn separately for each Regional Rural Bank.

Document verification

Originals are checked against everything declared in the application — qualification, category, age and any relaxation claimed. Certificates must be in the prescribed formats and dated on or before the closing date of the application. A candidate found ineligible at this point loses the candidature regardless of score.

One application per cadre, one post within the officer cadre

IBPS states that not more than one application may be made for any cadre, and that candidates should apply for only one post among Scale I, II and III. You may apply once as an Office Assistant and once as an Officer — those are separate cadres with separate applications and separate fees — but you cannot spread applications across the three officer scales.

What is next for IBPS RRB Officer

In CRP RRBs-XV the Officer Scale I Preliminary Examination is on 21 and 22 November 2026, with the Main Examination and the Scale II and III Single Examination both on 20 December 2026.

IBPS RRB Officer Eligibility

IBPS RRB Officer eligibility. Scale I requires a degree in any discipline, with preference for Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Accountancy, Law, Economics or Management. Scale II and III require a degree with the specified class of marks plus relevant work experience — two years for Scale II General Banking and five years for Scale III. The age limit is Scale I: 18 to 30 years. Scale II: 21 to 32 years. Scale III: 21 to 40 years, each as on 1 September 2026.
