Bihar STET Syllabus 2020, Exam Pattern, Important Books

The Bihar STET syllabus 2020 has not been particularly defined by the Board of School Examination Bihar. However, they have defined the areas from which the questions are asked in the exam. The exam will have 2 sections which are respective subjects and teaching aptitude and reasoning. Candidates can refer below the probable Bihar STET Syllabus:

I. Secondary and senior secondary teaching Eligibility Test:

(i) Section-1: Teaching Aptitude and Other Eligibility: This section will focus on the methods of teaching the students of age group of class 9th to 12th. The questions in other sections have reasoning questions such as profit loss, percentage, seating arrangement etc.

(ii) Section-2: Relevant Subject

a. Paper-1:

EnglishThe questions will be asked from the basic syllabus of Englishin graduation level.
The questions may also include topics from school level chapters.
HindiThe questions for Hindi Language will be asked from both graduation level as well as school level syllabus.
UrduThe candidates must know the basic topics that he studied in graduation and that he will teach in school.
SanskritIn this subject, the questions will consit of topics from graduation syllabus of sanskrit.
MathsThe questions in this subject will be asked from the topics of graduations as well as of school.
ScienceThe questions in the exam will asked for the syllabus of Science in the graduation as well as of the science upto 10th clss.
Social scienceThe questions in social science will asked from the subjects of graduations as well as from the social science upto 10th class.
SubjectsSyllabus
English Candidates must revise the topics of graduation and post-graduation for appearing in this exam.
MathsThe questions in this subject will be from the syllabus of maths in post graduation as well as graduation.
PhysicsCandidates must revise their topics of post graduation as well as of graduation for physics subject..
ChemistryThe syllabus for chemstry will be defined with the topics covered in the post-graduation as well as graduation.
BotanyThe syllabus of botany will be the course of botany studied in the post-graduation and graduation level.
ZoologyCadndiates must focus on the topics studied by him in post graduation as well in graduation to prepare for the zoology subject
Computer scienceThe syllabus of computer science will be defined to the topics of 11th and 12th class as well as the coutse of topics of graduation as well as post graduation.

Exam Pattern

(i) Paper-1 (for class 9th and 10th)

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
No. of Questions: 150 questions
Type of Questions: MCQ type only
Marking Scheme: Each question will be given 1 mark if correct. There is no negative marking for wrong answers or unattended questions.

Marking Scheme: 1 mark will be awarded for each question and there is no negative marking for wrong answers or unattended questions.

Preparation Tips

For any exam preparation, it is important to keep calm and remain positive in order to crack the examination. Candidates must refer to the preparation tips below while preparing for the Bihar STET exam 2020.

  1. Refer NCERT: Candidates must refer to the NCERT of the particular subject in which they wish to appear in the paper. One must clear all the concepts of NCERT to clear the exam. Focus more on the syllabus of the particular class for which the paper will be conducted.
  2. Time Management: Keep a schedule. Track the productive hours. As the exam is almost here, see if aspirant can study at least 6 hours of productive hours in a day.
  3. Make Notes: While studying, make notes and summary for revising in the crucial last moments. The notes must have all the important points aspirants wish to revise in the end when the exam is just a week away.
  4. Focus: Keep the mind focused on the exam. The focus and concentration while studying will also be beneficial while giving the exam.
  5. Speed and Accuracy: The exam will have 150 questions to be solved in 150 minutes. Each question will have 1 minute only. Candidates must maintain their speed while giving the exam and try to attempt every question right. Try keeping time for the exam to revise all the questions attempted.

About Bihar STET 2020

Bihar Secondary Teaching Eligibility Test (STET) is an exam conducted by Board of School examination Bihar for recruitment of teachers of secondary and senior secondary school. The applicants who wish to be a teacher for 9th and 10th class must appear for Paper-1 and the candidates who intend to be a teacher for 11th and 12th class must give exam for Paper-2. There are total 25270 seats announced for the secondary school teacher and 12065 vacancies for the senior secondary teacher.

The exam will also be conducted for Physical and Health Instructor eligibility exam. This exam is of 2 hour 30 minutes with 100 questions of objective type. The exam will be divided into 2 sections of 50 marks each. The first section will have questions from GK and second sections will have questions of specific subject.

The candidates have to clear the cut-off to be considered for the merit list. The merit list is prepared on the basis of marks of the candidates in the decreasing order. The candidates who qualify the exam are issued a certificate of teaching eligibility which is valid for 7 years. The certificate of Physical and Health Instructor is valid for 6 years.
