Bihar STET Tie Breaking Rule
There are instances when two or more candidates may secure the same score in the Bihar STET exam. In such cases, the board adopts a tie-breaking method to resolve the tie in marls. The tie-breaking criteria for preparation of the merit list have been specified below as per the previous year exam advertisement.
- Firstly, the date of birth of the candidates with same score is considered for tie-breaking. The candidate who is older in age is given preference.
- If the age of the candidates is same, then the marks scored in graduation/post-graduation is considered.
- The last criteria, if the marks scored in graduation/post-graduation are same, then the names of the candidates are considered in alphabetical order.
Bihar STET Certificate
Candidates who qualify through the Bihar STET exam and are selected for recruitment on the vacancies are issued a certificate of eligibility for teaching the students of secondary or senior secondary. The certificate is issued by the Board of School Education Bihar (BSEB). The candidate who wishes to be considered for the merit list of the exam of STET must score more than the cut-off marks.
Earlier, the Bihar STET certificate had a validity of 7 years from the date of announcement of the result. However, as per latest government directives, the STET certificate now remains valid for a lifetime.

The Bihar State Secondary Teaching Eligibility Test (STET) is conducted by Bihar School Education Board (BSEB) as per the vacancies notified by the Government of Bihar. The STET is conducted for 3 posts which are Secondary School Teacher, Senior Secondary School Teacher and Physical And Health Instructor.
