The selection procedure of CRPF consists of written exam, skill test, physical standard test, physical efficiency test and detailed medical examination. The Central Reserved Police Force is the largest para-military force in the world and is also the largest armed force of the country. History of CRPF
The Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF) was established on 27 July 1939 with the name Crown Representative Police (CRP) with 2 battalions in Nimach. Back then, the primary duty of the force was to protect the British Residents. In 1949, it was renamed as CRPF under the CRPF Act, 1949. Since then, it is actively working against foreign invasions and domestic insurgency. The force works under the guidance of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The CRPF also guarded the India-Pakistan border until the Border Security Force was created. In the year 2008, the force had a wing to counter the movement of Naxalite which was named CoBRA (Commando Battalion of Resolute Action). After 1987, the force started recruiting for women personnel and gave training to them.

Selection Procedure
All candidates applying for the recruitment and prima-facie eligible will be asked to appear in Physical Standards Test, Physical Efficiency Test and documentation. Detailed scrutiny of their eligibility will not be undertaken before PET/ PST & documentation. Therefore, it will be the responsibility of the candidate to verify their eligibility as prescribed in the notice before appearing for PST/ PET & documentation.

CRPF Trainning
The Central Reserve Armed Force (CRPF) also provides training to various newly recruited or existing personnel through the centres established for training:
CRPF Academy: The academy of CRPF was started to training and impart knowledge in newly recruited gazetted officers. This academy gives training through scientific manner and is oriented towards the new challenges of the fieldwork.
Central Training College: The central Training Centre has been established in the year 1967 for training of directly appointed deputy superitendents of police of CRPF. There are 4 CTCs in India as on today which are in Neemuch, Coimbatore, Mudkhed and Gwalior.
College of Information Technology, Banglore: The college of Information Technology, Banglore was inaugurated on 02 May, 2011. The institute impartes knowledge through 16 courses related to technology. Total 15761 students have passed from the college from 660 batches.
Counter Insurgency & Anti Terrorism School: The history of this school goes back to the year 1952 when 112 personnel were put through a wireless training and then in the year 1954, ROG-III course was run. Since then, the institute has been giving training of all categories such as Radio Operators, Technicians, Radio fitters and Cipher Operators for their basic, upgrading, specialised and promotional courses.
CoBRA School of Jungle Warfare and Tactics (CSJWT): CoBRA, also known as the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action is a specialised unit for counter against the Naxalite moment. The institute for CoBRA is also known as CSJWT which training the personnel of CRPF with art of camouflage and jungle warfare. The personnel of this school are trained for heli jump, carrying out reconnaissance and long-range patrols. The training in the CSJWT is of 3 months duration.

Parliament Duty Group
An unit of CRPF has been specifically tasked to provide protection to the Parliament House of India and is called the Parliament Duty Group. This task group is trained with combating nuclear and bio-chemical attacks, rescue operations and behavioural management and comprises of total 1540 personnel. The officers of this unit of CRPF are armed with Glock Pistols, MP5 Submachine Gun, INSAS sniper rifles with the telescope and hand-held thermal imagers.
