Application Form

The Application process for FSSAI Food Analyst Exam 2018 has been started on July 18, 2018.The online applications are invited from candidates possessing essential educational qualification and 3 years’ experience in terms of sub rule (ii) of Rule 2.1.4 of Food Safety and Standards Rules, 2011 under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2016. Interested candidates can fill their application form before the last date of the submission of the application form i.e August 28, 2018. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

For 5th Food Analyst Examination 2018

The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Dairy Chemistry or Food Technology, Food and Nutrition or hold Bachelor of Technology in Dairy/Oil or hold degree in Veterinary Sciences from a university establishes in India by law or is an associate of the Institution of Chemists (India) by examination in the section of Food Analysts conducted by the Institution of Chemists (India) or any other equivalent qualification recognized and notified by the Central government for such purposes.

For 2nd Junior Analyst Examination 2018

The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Dairy Chemistry or Food Technology, Food and Nutrition or Food Science or Food Science and Nutrition or hold Bachelor of Technology in Dairy/Oil/Food or hold degree in Veterinary Sciences from a university establishes in India by law or is an associate of the Institution of Chemists (India) by examination in the section of Food Analysts conducted by the Institution of Chemists (India) or any other equivalent qualification recognized and notified by the Central government for such purposes.

Experience

For 5th Food Analyst Examination 2018

The candidate should not possess less than three years experience in the analysis of food.

For 2nd Junior Analyst Examination 2018

No Experience is required.

Age Limit 

For 5th Food Analyst Examination 2018

There is no age limit for appearing in the 5th FAE 2018.

For 2nd Junior Analyst Examination 2018

Junior Food Analyst Examination Candidates age limit is maximum 28 years. For SC/ST category the maximum age is 33 years and for OBC category the maximum age is 31 years.

Note: 

  • The candidates who qualify Paper-I and Paper-II (Theory paper) as per the laid down criteria will only be allowed to appear in Paper-III (Practical). Dates of Practical examination will be intimated separately.
  • The Junior Analyst after acquiring 3 years mandatory experience in analysis of food may appear only in Paper-III (practical Examination) as and when conducted in future. The opportunity for appearing in Paper-III (Practical) for Junior Analysts after acquiring 3 years of experience will be provided only once. Upon qualifying Paper-III examination, the Junior Analyst will become eligible to be declared as Food Analysts under FSSR 2011.

  • Both theory papers viz., Paper-I and Paper- II are compulsory for all candidates appearing for FAE2018 and JAE-2018.
  • All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and each question will carry four marks. There will also be negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • Four marks will be awarded for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • The candidates should secure atleast 35% in each of the theory papers (i.e.,Paper-I and Paper-II) and a minimum aggregate of 40% from both papers.
  • The candidates of FAE-2018 who qualify Theory papers (i.e.,Paper-I and Paper-II)only will be eligible to appear for Practical (i.e., Paper-III). Dates, venue and syllabus of Paper-III will be intimated separately.
  • Those candidates appearing for JAE-2018 will be awarded certificate as qualified Junior Analyst, only if they qualify the theory papers (i.e., Paper-I and Paper-II). After obtaining the requisite experience of 3 years to appear for FAE, the JAE qualified candidates will appear for Paper-III only. This provision will be available to JAE qualified candidates one time only.

Important Instructions

  • Candidate can apply only for one examination i.e., either for 5th Food Analysts Examination, 2018 (5th FAE, 2018) or for 2nd Junior Analyst Examination, 2018 (2nd JAE, 2018).
  • Candidates applying for 2nd JAE, 2018 will have to appear only for Theory Papers – I and II, whereas candidates applying for 5th FAE, 2018 will also have to appear for Paper III (Practical exam) after clearing the theory papers I & II as per laid down criteria.
  • Applications are to be submitted only through online mode. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be considered.
  • Before filling up online application form, please ensure fulfillment of essential educational qualification and experience, as the case may be.
  • No relaxation in the Educational Qualification and/or experience is admissible.
    Examination fee is to be submitted only through online mode. Fees submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
  • There shall be no refund of fees at any stage. In case fee is submitted for one application more than once, then excess fee will be refunded.
  • Choice of examination centre is available in the online form. However examination centre may be changed if sufficient number of candidates is not available for a particular examination centre.
