HTET — the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test — is conducted by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH), Bhiwani, under the Right to Education Act, 2009. It is a qualifying test for teaching posts in the state's schools, held at three levels:

  • Level 1 (PRT) — Primary Teacher, for classes I to V.
  • Level 2 (TGT) — Trained Graduate Teacher, for classes VI to VIII.
  • Level 3 (PGT) — Post Graduate Teacher / Lecturer, for classes IX to XII.

A single registration lets a candidate apply for one level or multiple levels. The latest cycle is HTET 2025, with the examination held on 4 and 5 July 2026.

The HTET qualifying certificate is valid for life.

HTET qualifies you to apply — it does not appoint you

Qualifying HTET does not confer any right to recruitment. It is one of the eligibility conditions for appointment as a teacher in Haryana; the vacancy itself is filled through a separate recruitment process.

💬 Frequently Asked Questions

Does clearing HTET give me a teaching job?

No. A teaching eligibility test qualifies you to apply for teaching posts — it establishes that you meet the required standard. Actual vacancies are filled through a separate recruitment process run by the relevant authority.
