Application Fee

  • General candidates will have to pay Rs 500/- whereas
  • SC/ST category candidate will have to pay Rs 250/- as the application fee.

Selection Procedure

There will 2 paper conducted first one is for primary class i.e. from class I-V and the 2 paper is conducted for Upper Primary class i.e. from class VI-VIII.

Eligibility Criteria

Class I-V (Primary Level) –

  • Candidates should have passed in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45 % marks & passed or appearing in final 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Candidates should have passed in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 % marks & passed or appearing in final 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
  • Candidates should have passed in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 % marks & passed or appearing in final 2 – year Diploma in Education in Special Education are also eligible.
  • Candidates with BA / B.Sc. with at least 50 percent marks and B.Ed qualification can also apply.

Classes VI-VIII (Paper II) 2016 – 

  • Applicants having Graduation Degree and appearing in final 2 year D.Ed
  • Candidates having Graduation Degree with at least 45, 50% percent marks and passed / appearing in B.Ed
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50 percent marks and passed or appearing in final 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed.
  • A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.) / B.Ed. (Special Education) with 50 percent in BA or B.Sc are eligible for JAC TET.

Exam Pattern

The test will be of objective type. Along with question paper an OMR sheet will also be given to the candidates for marking answer. Duration of paper iwill be 02.30 hrs and the medium of the exam will be Hindi and English. But the questions of English and Urdu will be given only in English and Urdu language.

Selection Process

Selection process consisting of two papers, first one is for primary class i.e. from class I-V and the second one is conducted for Upper Primary class i.e. from class VI-VIII.

Candidates who will score at least 60% will be considered as selected. For SC / ST the cut off score is 52%. Candidates who will qualify the TET will not be considered as finally selected. Final selection of the candidates will be based on the TET score and on the eligibility criteria.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Can I appear for TET for practice purpose, though I am aware that I am not eligible?
Ans. No. You must fulfill the eligibility requirements to appear for TET 2016. Moreover, appearance in the TET 2016 shall be considered as an attempt.

2. In case the website does not work and I am unable to complete my application, what should I do?
Ans. If the registration website is not accessible for any reason, please close the Internet browser (delete browsing history, cache & cookies of the web browser) and try again. Also, ensure that you are using the correct version of the Internet browser recommended

3. Can I use my coaching institutes or a friend’s email address and/or mobile number when registering for TET?
Ans. No. You must provide a valid email address and mobile number of yours. Future correspondence pertaining to TET 2016 may be communicated to you via the registered email address / mobile number.

4. What do I do if I have not received any email?
Ans. Email’s can get delayed for various reasons, please check your mail box after sometime. You can also check the spam folder of your mail box for the same. If you still cannot find the same, try registration procedure after some time.

5. I have changed my name with due procedure after completing my 10th/12th/Degree Examination. Should I enter my name as per the 10th/12th/Degree Certificate or the changed name?
Ans. You must enter your changed name and have such documents in your possession all the stages of the examination process. TET authorities may ask for the same for verification. Failure to produce the same on demand may disqualify your candidature.

6. What do I do, if my Marks Percentage is in Grade?
Ans. Percentage is calculated by the system based on Full Marks & Obtained Marks entered by you and you can change/modify the same to grade this is purely optional. However keeping the same in percentage format is welcomed.
