How to calculate your score from the key
Under CEN 08/2025, the CBT has 100 objective questions in 90 minutes, each worth one mark. For every post except Junior Translator (Hindi), the indicative split is:
- Professional Ability: 50
- General Awareness: 15
- General Intelligence and Reasoning: 15
- Mathematics: 10
- General Science: 10
The Junior Translator paper is different. At least 50% of its questions test language (20% English and 30% Hindi), and the rest cover general knowledge, general intelligence, simple arithmetic and basics of computers. One third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer, so your score is correct answers minus wrong answers ÷ 3. For example, 60 correct and 30 wrong gives 60 − 10 = 50.
The minimum marks for eligibility are 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC (non-creamy layer) and SC, and 25% for ST. For PwBD candidates these may be relaxed by 2 marks if there are not enough of them for their reserved vacancies. Cut-offs are published per post and community, out of 100. At RRB Chandigarh, the UR cut-off for the Junior Translator Translation Test shortlist was 74.41078.
What happened after the objection window
The RRBs published CBT results post by post and RRB by RRB, mostly on 5 and 6 October 2026 (RRB Prayagraj's list came on 8 October 2026), and a score card link followed on 8 October 2026. Junior Translator (Hindi) candidates shortlisted from the CBT will take the Translation Test on 30 October 2026.
