RPF SI Selection Process- RPF SI exam is conducted for 1120 vacancies. Out of these 1120 vacancies, 819 are for males and 301 for females. RPF SI Selection Process contains a Computer Based Test(CBT), Physical Efficiency Test(PET), Physical Measurement Test(PMT), and then later, Medical and Document Verification. Candidates who qualify the CBT are shortlisted for the PET exam. The PET exam is qualifying nature and it is not marks based. RPF SI Selection Process
RPF SI CBT is held for Railway Zones that fall under Group A. B, C, D, E and F. This CBT examination cycle determines the candidates who are shortlisted for the PET and also the PMT. RPF SI Selection Process
RPF SI Selection Process is a long one. There are five major stages in the Selection Process
- Computer Based Test(CBT)
- Physical Measurement Test(PMT)
- Physical Efficiency Test(PET)
- Document Verification(DV)
- Medical Verification
The Computer Based Test is both a qualifying and marks based exam, while the Physical Efficiency Test and the Physical Measurement Test are both only qualifying in nature. The Document Verification process is done after the publication of Final Merit List and a candidate’s appointment is subjected to qualifying the Medical Verification.
RPF SI Computer Based Test(CBT)
The RPF SI CBT is a MCQs type examination. A total of 120 questions are given to the candidates, with a time limit of 90 minutes. There is a Negative Marking of 1/3 for each wrong answer, while the candidates get 1 mark for each right answer. The CBT exam covers sections like General Awareness, Arithmetic and General Intelligence and Reasoning. An Unreserved Candidate needs to score a minimum of 30% marks to proceed further, while a SC/ST candidate needs to score 30%.
RPF SI Physical Measurement Test(PMT)
A candidate needs to fulfill certain physical requirements to advance and take the Physical Efficiency Test(PET). The female candidate must fulfill the height criteria, while the male candidates have to fulfil the height and chest measurement criteria. The measurement is done in centimeters(Cms). RPF SI Physical Efficiency Test
Candidates, who make the CBT shortlist are called for a Physical Efficiency Test(PET). This test examines a candidate’s physical strength. A candidate has to perform activities like running and jumping to qualify the RPF SI PET. Following are the minimum requirements for a female candidate:–

RPF SI Final Merit List and Document Verification
The RPF SI Final Merit List considers two factors-
- If a candidate has qualified the PET
- The marks of CBT
If two candidates get the same marks, then the older candidate is preferred. Candidate who make the Final Merit List are then called for a Document Verification. The Document Verification is done to confirm the eligibility of a candidate. It confirms the Candidate’s name, date of birth, education qualification, age, etc. A candidate must submit the documents on the Document Verification day. A candidate isn’t give any additional time to submit the documents.
RPF SI Medical Verification
It is necessary to meet the medical standards of Indian Railways. Candidates who are called for the Document Verification are sent to Railway Hospitals for a medical verification. Candidates, who wear glasses, have a flat foot, knock knee, squint eyes, colour blindness or any other physical defects can’t get an appointment. A candidate must belong to at least the B-1 category as per the Indian Railways Medical Standards.
