The selection process for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2024, under CEN 04/2024, is designed to ensure the recruitment of skilled and qualified candidates for various paramedical posts. The process includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT), Document Verification (DV), and a Medical Examination. Here is a detailed guide to understanding each stage of the selection process.

Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Key Features of the CBT

  1. Mode of Exam: Online (Computer-Based)
  2. Question Type: Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions)
  3. Duration: 90 minutes
  4. Total Questions: 100
  5. Subjects:
    • General Awareness
    • Professional Knowledge (relevant to the post)
    • Arithmetic
    • General Intelligence and Reasoning

Marking Scheme

  • Correct Answer: Each correct response awards 1 mark.
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

  • General: 40%
  • OBC/SC: 30%
  • ST: 25%

Note: Relaxation in qualifying marks is provided for PwBD candidates.

Stage 2: Document Verification (DV)

Shortlisting for DV

Candidates who qualify for the CBT based on the merit list and cut-off marks are shortlisted for Document Verification. The number of candidates called for DV is typically 1.5 times the number of vacancies.

Documents Required

Candidates must produce original and self-attested photocopies of the following:

  1. High School Certificate (Proof of Date of Birth)
  2. Educational Qualifications (Diploma/Degree certificates as required for the post)
  3. Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)
  4. Income Certificate (for Economically Weaker Sections – EWS)
  5. Disability Certificate (if applicable)
  6. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer (if applicable)
  7. Proof of Nationality (Aadhaar Card, Passport, etc.)

Important: Failure to produce valid documents may result in disqualification.

Stage 3: Medical Examination

Purpose of Medical Examination

The medical examination ensures that candidates are medically fit to perform the duties associated with the applied post.

Medical Standards

  • Vision Requirements: Certain posts, such as Radiographer, may require specific vision standards (e.g., no color blindness).
  • General Health: Candidates should be free from any medical condition that could interfere with their job performance.

Medical Test Details

  • Conducted by Railway-authorized medical professionals.
  • Includes general health check-ups, vision tests, and other assessments relevant to the post.

Note: Candidates failing the medical standards prescribed for the post will not be considered for final selection.

Final Selection and Merit List

The final selection is based on:

  1. Performance in the CBT (primary weightage)
  2. Successful verification of documents
  3. Clearing the medical examination

The merit list is prepared by combining the normalized scores of CBT and eligibility confirmation through DV and medical fitness.

Important Points to Note

  1. Ensure all documents are ready and valid before DV.
  2. Prepare thoroughly for the CBT as it holds the maximum weightage.
  3. Check the specific medical standards for the post you are applying for.
  4. Keep track of official updates regarding the schedule and requirements.

The RRB Paramedical Selection Process is systematic and transparent, aimed at identifying the most capable candidates for these crucial roles. Prepare diligently for each stage to enhance your chances of securing your dream job in the Indian Railways!
