Age limit: UR – 18 to 28 years, OBC – 18 to 31 years, SC / ST – 18 to 33 years, Serving Railway Employee – Upto 40 years, Ex-SM – Extent of age relaxation as per rules.
Minimum educational qualification: Candidate should have passed 10+2 with at least 50% marks in aggregate. This is not insisted upon in case of SC, ST, Ex-SM and to those who have qualification higher than 10+2 such as Graduate / Post Graduate.
Scouting Qualification:
- A President Scouts / Guide / Rover / Ranger or Himalaya Wood Badge holder in any section.
- Candidate should have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last 5 years. Annexure I contains certificate of activeness.
- Candidate should have attended two events at National level or All India Railways level and two events at state level.

Age limit: UR – 18 to 31 years, OBC – 18 to 34 years, SC / ST – 18 to 36 years, Serving Railway Employee – Upto 40 years, Ex-SM – Extent of age relaxation as per rules.
Educational qualification for Civil Engineering, Mech, Electrical and S&T: Class 10 passed + National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT, or, Class 10 passed + ITI.
Educational qualification for other department: Class 10 passed or ITI or equivalent or National or Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Scouting Qualification:
- A President Scouts / Guide / Rover / Ranger or Himalaya Wood Badge holder in any section.
- Candidate should have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last 5 years. Annexure I contains certificate of activeness.

RRC Northern Railway Scouts and Guides Quota Application Form 2018
The application form is available in online mode at http://www.rrcnr.org. Candidate has to fill the online application and pay fees online also. Important instructions for applying are as follows:
- Application should be in prescribed format only. It should also be complete.
- Railway Recruitment application form should have photograph, left thumb impression, signature. Signature must not be in all capital letters.
- Candidate must pay appropriate examination fee amount.
All enclosures, as required, should be uploaded with the Railway Recruitment application form.

- Date of birth proof (Class 10 certificate)

- Scouting qualification proof
- Caste / Minority / Economically Backward class certificate, is applicable, as per RRC NR Delhi annexures.
Who can authorize income certificate for the purpose of identifying Economically Backward Classes?
The following are competent authorities for the purpose.
- District magistrate or any other Revenue officer up to the level of Tehsildar.
- Sitting MP of Lok Sabha for persons of their own constituency.
- BPL card or any other certificate issued by Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation programme or Izzat MST issued by Railways.
- Union Minister may also recommend a person.
- Sitting MP of Rajya Sabha for persons of the District in which the MP normally resides.
Written Exam
Exam will be in Hindi or English. Written exam will be in Delhi only. There will be separate exam for both categories. Maybe on same day, but on different shifts.

Candidates who qualify written exam will appear in scouting skill assessment. A committee will assess the practical ability of candidates. This will be of 10 marks.

- Probation: Period of probation will be as per rules.
- Training: Period of training will be as per rules. Those who get selected will undergo training as per requirement of post.

- Place of posting: Candidates will get posting in Northern Railway.
- Typing skill proficiency: Within a period of two years from appointment, candidates must possess a proficiency in typing. Appointment will be provisional on this basis.
