JHTET Result 2026: Pass Marks, OMR Rules, Lifetime Certificate

The JHTET 2026 result has not been declared yet: the examination itself is on 1 November 2026, under Advertisement 24/2026 of the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC). The result will cover both levels — Level 1 for classes I to V and Level 2 for classes VI to VIII — and is prepared from the OMR answer sheets.

What does the JHTET result decide?

JHTET is an eligibility test only. Advertisement 24/2026 states that passing it gives no claim or right to appointment as Assistant Acharya or Special Education Assistant Acharya. The result tells you whether you crossed the minimum percentage of total marks for your category:

How the marks are made up

All questions are objective multiple-choice, and there is no negative marking. The Level 1 paper has five sections of 30 questions and 30 marks each — Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies — for a total of 150. Level 2 has three compulsory 30-mark sections (Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II) and an optional part: Mathematics and Science teachers answer 50 subject questions and 10 on general computer knowledge, Social Science teachers answer 50 social studies questions plus the same 10 computer questions, and language or other teachers take either of these two options.

Can the OMR be re-checked?

No. Advertisement 24/2026 says the OMR will not be re-evaluated or re-checked after the result, and no application for it will be considered. An answer circle not darkened fully in black or blue is not checked at all. The result is also issued on the particulars you typed in the online form, and JAC will not accept any request to amend them after the result.

JHTET certificate: valid for life

Rule 13 of the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test Rules, 2026 (notification 487 of 26 March 2026) says qualified candidates receive a certificate from the authorised examining body, valid for life, and that the same applies to certificates of the Jharkhand TET 2013 and 2016. You may take the test more than once to improve your score. The certificate's validity, however, depends on the genuineness of your academic and training degrees and other certificates.

Still in teacher training?

Candidates admitted while appearing in the final examination of the required training course must, between the JHTET examination and the publication of its result, submit the verified final marksheet of that course on a date and at a place fixed by the examining authority. JAC will publish that notice in newspapers, so watch for it after 1 November 2026.

After the result

Being allowed to sit the test does not mean your eligibility is verified. Final verification for Assistant Acharya and Special Trained Assistant Acharya posts (classes 1–5 and 6–8) rests with the appointing authority named in those rules, the District Superintendent of Education. The facts in your application are checked at the time of appointment; anything misleading, incomplete or false cancels the candidature even after you pass. JAC must keep all JHTET records for at least seven years (rule 18).
