Composition of TPSC

Functions of TPSC
The framers of the constitution of India very consciously and deliberately gave PSC a constitutional status to guarantee an independent status to them. It insulates all the external pressure and ensures these commissions are able to perform their functions in an equitable, just, and objective manner. Public Service Commission has to play their role impartially and efficiently. The main function of TPSC is as follows:
- Conduct examinations for the appointment to various services of the State of Tripura.
- TPSC makes direct recruitment to the Ministerial and Subordinate Services.
- TPSC advises on the principle to be followed in framing and making appointments, promotions and transfer from one service to another.

Events of TPSC
Events conducted by TPSC for the commencement of examination are as follows:
TPSC Application form: For the examinations, TPSC organizes online application process. Under the ‘online application’ link, candidates can apply for specific post. TPSC provides candidates with some basic information related to application procedure, cropping photograph and signature, what to do if forgot password. Candidates have to register themselves first to apply for any post.
TPSC Admit Card: TPSC releases e-admit card for recruitment exams. Candidates can download the e-admit card with the help of their username and password. Admission certificates for some examination are released in PDF format.
TPSC Selection Procedure: The selection procedure for various examination is different. Some of the common stages of selection are online and OMR based examination followed by interview round.
TPSC Answer key: After the successful commencement of the examination, answer key is released on the official website. It is available in the form of PDF.
TPSC Result: TPSC releases result for written examination and interview round separately. Like answer key, result is also released in PDF form.

Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) was established in the year 1972, under the provisions of article 315 of the constitution of India. Sri. G.P.Bagchi was the first chairman and Shri I.K Roy was the first member of the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC). Currently, TPSC is located at the old assembly house of Tripura, at Akhaura Road, Agartala. TPSC worked for the recruitment of eligible candidates in the government jobs of the state. The provision for the constitution of public service commission was first incorporated under Article 96C which paved the path for the formation of Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC).
