Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelors degree from a University established by law in India or a qualification recognized by the Government as equivalent thereto.
  • “O” Level certificate awarded by the DOEACC society or a qualification equivalent thereto.
  • Must possess a minimum speed of twenty-five words per minute in Hindi typewriting.
  • Preference will be given to a candidate knowing English typewriting also.

Age Limit

  • Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed the age of 40 years on 01 July 2017 i.e. they must not have been born earlier than 02 July 1977 and not later than 01 July 1996.
  • For PH candidates, the maximum age limit is 55 years i.e. they must have not been born before 02 July 1962.

Marital Status

Male candidates who are married and have more than one wife living and female candidates who have married a person already having a wife, will not be eligible unless the Honorable Governor has granted an exemption from this condition.

Application Form

The online application included three stages. The direct link had been available on the application form page once the application window opened. Applications were accepted only when the fee is deposited in the Bank up to prescribed last date for fee deposition.

  • First Stage: It includes Basic Registration of the Candidates. A Print Registration slip generates after the successful completion of the first stage.
  • Second Stage: It is the payment stage where the application fee needs to be paid within the mentioned dates. The application fee can be paid online or through Bank challan (offline)
  • Third Stage: This is the final stage of this application process. After successful payment of the application fee candidates can proceed to this form with the registration ID and password they entered since the first stage. Here, candidates have to fill in all the required particulars along with uploading their scanned recent photograph and signature. Candidates will also get an opportunity to preview and edit the application form for the final time (if there are any rectifications to be made). Since the Application once submitted, will not be allowed to modify.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission will be releasing the results of Review Officer & Assistant Review Officer Preliminary Exam about a month after the day of examination. The direct link to check the result and details like cut-off and others will be available on the result page once its been declared. Applicants have to use their Registration Number and Password for verification.

Selection Process

Selection process consisting of :

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Examination

After the application process, candidates will be shortlisted for the Preliminary Exam. All these candidates have to appear in the preliminary exam. On the basis of Result of Preliminary Examination, approximately eighteen times candidates will qualify for the main examination

After the Preliminary Exam, the Main Exam will be conducted. Only such candidates will be admitted to the Main (written examination) who are declared successful in the Preliminary Examination for which the successful Candidates will have to fill up another application form according to instructions of the Commission. Candidates selected for appointment will have to undergo Medical Examination as required under the Rules.


The reservation for Scheduled Castes of U.P./Scheduled Tribes of U.P. / Other Backward Class candidates of U.P. will be admissible in accordance with the provisions of prevailing Govt. Rules. Accordingly, reservation for category under horizontal as Dependents of Freedom Fighters of U.P, Ex-Service Men of U.P., P.H. of U.P. and Women candidates of U.P. will be admissible on settlement of vacancies. Reservation for P.H. of U.P. will be permissible for the notified and identified Posts.

Note :
The Candidates claiming the benefit of reservation/age relaxation must obtain, in support of their category a certificate issued by competent authority on the proforma available on the detailed advertisement and will submit the same to the Commission when asked for.
All Reserved candidates of U.P. must mention their Category / Sub Category in the Application.
Candidates claiming reservation/Age relaxation in more than one category will be entitled to only one concession whichever is more beneficial to them.
The Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Class, Dependents of Freedom Fighter, Ex-Service Men, P.H. and Women candidates who are not the permanent residents of U.P. will not be given the benefit of reservation.Such candidates will be treated as the candidates of the General Category. In case of women candidates the caste certificate/domicile certificate issued from father side only be treated valid.
