WB SET Result 2018 – West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) will release WB SET Result 2018 at  wbcsc.org.in. The Commission will announce the result after conduction of the examination. The WB SET 2018 exam will hold on December 02, 2018. The candidates who will appear in the exam will able to check the result. The only mode of checking the result will be online apart from that no other mode will be available to chcek the result. The Commission will release the result through pdf. How To Check WB SET Result 2018?

The procedure to check result of WB State Eligibility Test 2018 is simple and candidate friendly. All one needs is working computer with internet connection. Other platforms with internet may also suffice.

Each year the WB SET Result is published as a PDF file that contains roll numbers of qualified candidates. This year also similar action is expected to be taken by the exam conducting body.

About Result of WB SET 2017

State Eligibility Test consisted of three papers namely Paper I, Paper II, Paper III of 100, 100, 150 marks respectively. Paper, I was of general nature. It had 60 questions out of which only 50 were to be attempted. Paper II and III had 50 and 75 compulsory questions.

Now the selection process involves three steps.

1. Clearing cut off

There are criteria to select the candidates on the basis of the result of WB SET 2017. Top 6% of the appearing candidates who appear in all three papers in the West Bengal State Eligibility Test and must have secure at least 40% aggregate marks for candidates belonging to the General category and candidates who belong to the reserved category (ST/SC/OBC) must have obtained at least 35% aggregate marks in the test will be declared as qualified and they will be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.

2. Compilation of WB SET Merit List

Those who have obtained marks in each paper as per the table above are placed in the merit list. Merit list is prepared to subject wise and category wise.

3. Declaration of qualified candidates

Out of the candidates placed in the merit list, top candidates for each subject and category are declared qualified in the State Eligibility Test in the WB SET Results. Such qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the posts of Assistant Professors and Librarian.



  1. The current question-paper pattern of WB SET merely tests the memory retention power @ capability of the examinees. The pattern should be such as to assess the analytical , rational power of the wannabe professors. There should be given paragraphs to test the grammatical knowledge as well as comprehension at least in language papers such as English, Bengali, French etc.
