WB SET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility requirements (age limit, educational qualification) in order to appear for WB SET 2021. Check the requirements given below based on the previous year exam.

Age Limit: There is no age limit to appear for WB SET 2021.

Educational Qualification: 

1. Candidates must have a masters degree with 55% marks (for general candidates) and 50% marks for SC/ST/PWD category candidates or equivalent examination recognized by UGC.
2. Those aspirants who have appeared or will be appearing for the final year exam of Master’s Degree can also apply.
3. Those who had completed a Master’s Degree by 19th September 1991 and are current PhD degree holders are eligible and provided with relaxation of 5% aggregate.
4. He/She is eligible to apply if holds postgraduate diploma/ certificate awarded by Indian University OR foreign degree/ diploma/ certificate awarded by the foreign University.

Exemption:

Candidates who have cleared NET / SLET/ CSIR JRF are exempted from appearing in SET. They can straight away apply for the post of Assistant Professors in the institutions/colleges/universities affiliated with Govt. of India.

WB SET Application Form 2022

The Application Form for WB SET 2021 releases online at wbcsconline.in. Candidates are required to first register themselves. To register, applicants are required to enter their personal details, academic details, exam and qualification details. After that, candidates need to upload the documents and pay the application fee.

Application Fee & Mode of Payment

• The payment of the WB SET 2022 Application Fee can be done either by online mode (Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Internet Banking) or offline mode (e-challan).
• In the case of e-challan, the fee can be deposited at any Branch of the United Bank of India.
• Bank Charges are applicable plus candidates have to pay the service tax.
• Once an aspirant has deposited the fee, then, it will be non-refundable.

West Bengal College Service Commission conducts the SET every year to provide the eligibility for the recruitment of Assistant Professors. The Commission’s main purpose is to select Assistant Professors to Govt. Aided Colleges in West Bengal.
