Assam TET 2020 is being held by the Department of Elementary Education, Assam. The exam aims to certify eligible candidates for recruitment as lower primary and upper primary teachers in the state of Assam. Overview of Assam TET 2020
The Assam TET exam is conducted once a year by the Department of Elementary Education, Assam. Every candidate in Assam, who wish to become a teacher in the elementary level must appear and qualify in the Assam TET exam. There are two papers and each one is to determine the eligibility of the candidates to teach in the corresponding level. Assam TET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
The candidates must refer to the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. If the candidate is ineligible and has applied for the post, his application will be canceled and no application fee be refunded to him. Essentially, the candidate must be an Indian citizen. Read on to know the minimum educational qualifications to apply for the Assam TET 2020 exam.
Educational Qualification for Lower Primary
There are two conditions that the candidate must clear to be educationally qualified for the post of Lower Primary Teacher.
Condition-1: The candidates must have passed 12th class and have either of the following qualifications:
- 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name is known)
- 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
Condition-2: Pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline.
Educational qualification for Upper Primary
The candidate must clear both the conditions as specified under to be eligible for upper primary.
Condition 1: The candidate must have any one of the following qualifications:
- Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed.(Special Education)
Condition 2: Pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline.
The candidates must have 50% marks in their minimum qualifications. However, the following are the cases where relaxation of 5% marks is applicable:
- Candidates of SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH) categories
- For Paper-1, candidates who were admitted in 2nd Year D.El.Ed. before August 31, 2009, and qualified it.
- For paper-2, candidates who were admitted in 1-Year B.Ed. before August 31, 2009, and qualified it.
Assam TET 2020 Application Form
Department of Elementary Education releases the online application form for Assam TET 2020 on the official website i.e. ssa.assam.gov.in. The candidate must refer to the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. If a candidate wishes to apply for both the papers must pay the application fee for both the paper separately. No request for form correction will be entertained by the authorities. Therefore, candidates are advised to fill the application form correctly and cross-check all the information. The candidates can select only one exam district for appearing in the exam.

Applications for the Assam TET 2020 can be made online at the official website as per schedule. Follow the steps given below to go to the website and apply online.
#1: Firstly, go to the website of the Department of Elementary Education at ssa.assam.gov.in.
#2: Click on the link to apply for the exam. It is released under the “Teachers Eligibility Test” option.
#3: Complete the registration process by entering personal details including mobile number and email id.
#4: Use the login credentials generate to log in to the portal and fill in the application form.
#5: Make the payment of application fee
#6: Finally submit the application form and generate a print out of the same

Preparation Tips For Assam TET 2020
Assam TET 2020 exam preparations need time and dedication. The syllabus is by no means narrow in scope while candidates often do not have enough time to cover every aspect of it before the exam date. However, with a little strategy and study plan, it is possible to prepare well for the exam and score higher marks. Follow the tips given below to ace the Assam TET 2020 exam.
Refer to mock tests and solved papers. It is not necessary that you have to prepare from Assam TET papers only. Candidates can also refer to TET papers from other states as well.
Make a study plan. Divide subjects across the study plan and allocate study hours to each subject. Make sure that the study plan also includes time for last minute revisions.
Make short notes for last minute revisions. Often, there is a lack of time during the last few days before the exam. Short notes taken before can help in quick revisions before the exam.
Practice solving mathematics and reasoning questions. These take time and the syllabus is huge. Therefore, devote time to this area from the beginning of the study plan.
Solve mock tests to understand the question pattern properly. Thereafter, prioritize the sections that you are strong in to answer first. Work on your weak areas. You can also enhance your time management skills by solving mock tests.
Exam Pattern of Assam TET 2020
Assam TET 2020 exam consists of two papers. The Paper I will be for those who intend to be a teacher of Lower Primary level (classes I to V) and Paper-II will be for those who intend to be a teacher of Upper Primary level (classes VI to VIII). Refer below for more details about the exam pattern.

Assam TET 2020 Admit Card
The admit card of Assam TET 2020 releases on the official website of Elementary Education, Government of Assam. The admit card is available in the login section. The candidate needs registration details and a password to download the admit card. Candidates must take photo ID proof along with the admit card to the exam center. No candidate is allowed to the exam hall if they do not produce the admit card for verification. The admit card must clearly show a passport photo and signature of the candidate to consider it valid. Candidate must read the instructions given in the admit card and abide by the same in the exam centre.
Important instruction related to Assam TET Admit Card 2020
- The admit card is mandatory to be produced at the exam hall. Do not forget to carry it on the day of the exam. ‘
- Department of Elementary Education, Assam does not send the admit card to the individual candidates by post.
- While printing the admit card, prefer an A4 size paper and do not reduce the original size of the admit card.
- Do not forget to carry another valid photo identity proof to the exam center along with the admit card.

Answer Key of Assam TET 2020
The Department of Elementary Education, Assam releases answer key shortly after conducting the exam. The answer key is available in PDF format for all the sets. Key for Paper-1& 2 is released separately. Candidates can find the answer key of Assam TET 2020 on the official website under the tab of Teaching Eligibility Test.
The answer key is the list of all the correct answers of the question paper. The response sheets of all the candidates are evaluated on the basis of the answer key. Every correct answer is given 1 mark each and there is no negative marking for wrong answers or unattended questions. You can also object the answer key uploaded by the officials by paying the prescribed fees for the same.
Result of Assam TET 2020
Assam TET 2020 Result is the merit of all the candidates who qualify in the Assam TET 2020 exam. The candidate must score the minimum marks specified by the authorities to qualify in the exam. The result consists of name, roll number, registration number. and category of the candidates as well as the overall score of the candidate.
Assam TET 2020 Cut Off Marks
NCTE has fixed cut off for overall paper. All in all, candidates who obtain marks equal to or more than cut off overall will be declared as qualified.
