Stenographer Grade II & III – 97

Pay Scale: 

  • For Stenographer Grade II – Rs. 22000 – 87000/- with grade pay of Rs. 9700 (PB-3)
  • For Stenographer Grade III – Rs. 14000 – 49000/- with grade pay of Rs. 7400 (PB-2)

Educational Qualification: Candidate must be a Graduate from a recognized University in any discipline.

Age Limit:

  • For Stenographer Grade II & III – Candidate must not be less than 18 years and more than 43 years of age

Selection Process:

  • For Stenographer Grade II & III – Written Test, Stenography Test, Viva-voice.

  • For SC / ST / PWD – Rs. 170/-
  • For all Others – Rs. 340/-

Gauhati High Court Eligibility Criteria

For Stenographer Grade II

  • The candidate must be a graduate from a UGC recognized University.
  • Should possess a Diploma/Certificate in Stenography/Shorthand from ITI/Polytechnic/any other institute. Candidates who are pursuing Stenography/Shorthand may also apply. However, they must submit pass/completion certificate/diploma to the High Court at the time of document verification, unless otherwise decided by the High Court.
  • Must have adequate knowledge of the official language (Assamese) of Assam.

For Stenographer Grade III

  • A candidate who has passed H.S. examination from any recognized Board/Council/University.
  • Should possess a Diploma/Certificate in Stenography/Shorthand from m/Polytechnic/any other institute. Candidates who are pursuing Stenography/Shorthand may also apply. However, they must submit pass/completion certificate/diploma to the High Court at the time of document verification, unless otherwise decided by the High Court.
  • Must have adequate knowledge of the official language (Assamese) of Assam.

Terms & Conditions

  • The admission of candidates at all stages of the selection process will be purely provisional and subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. The application will be subject to scrutiny at every stage and shall be rejected if any defect is detected.
  • No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for appearing in the written test/interview etc.
  • Information submitted by an applicant in his/her application will bind the candidate and if found to be false, his/her candidature will be cancelled forthwith and he/she shall be liable for criminal prosecution.
  • The certificate for the claim of reservation must be issued by Competent Authority.
  • All other matters which are not specifically provided in the given advertisement shall be as decided by the High Court.
  • The High Court reserves the right to cancel or modifies the advertisement without any notice.
  • Candidates who are already in the Government Service may apply through proper channel and they shall have to submit release order at the time of joining.
