IES Admit Card 2022
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is all set to conduct the Indian Engineering Service (IES) Exam on February 20. The IES admit card 2022 has been released now. Candidates can download the same from the official website, upsc.gov.in till the day of the exam. The IES exam is conducted to recruit candidates into the posts of Civil Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers. The exam will be held in 42 cities across India. There are a total of 247 vacancies. Of the total number of candidates appearing for the Prelims exam, around 1500 to 1600 candidates are expected to be shortlisted to Stage 2.

UPSC ESE 2021 E-Summon
Candidates who clear the mains exam for UPSC ESE shall receive e-summon to appear for the personality test. The Commission release the same on the E-Summon Portal of the website. Check the complete steps on how to download UPSC ESE E-Sumon below:
1st step: Go to the official website, upsconline.nic.in.
2nd step: Thereafter, click on the ‘e-summon for various examinations of Union Public Service Commission’.
3rd step: Tap on the ‘download’ button available in front of ESE 2021 section.

4th step: Enter the roll number and date of birth. Th e-summon for ESE 2021 personality test will appear on the screen.

How to Download IES Admit Card 2022?
Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.in.
Step 2: Scroll down and click on the “Admit Cards” tab highlighted in brown.

Step 3: Candidates will be taken to another page. Click on the “Admit cards for various examinations of UPSC” option.
Step 4: Select the “Download” link in the column e-Admit Card Link, besides the exam name Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022.
Step 5: Now, important instructions relating to the exam will be displayed on the screen. After reading the instructions carefully, scroll down and click on the ‘Yes’ button provided below.
Step 6: Candidates can now choose to login with either their Registration ID or Roll Number.

Step 7: After choosing the required option, enter the Registration ID/ Roll number, Date of Birth and enter the captcha text.
Step 8: Click on the ‘Submit’ option and the admit card will be visible on the screen.
Step 9: Candidates can download the admit card by selecting the ‘Download’ option on the top right corner of the PDF document.

What After UPSC IES Admit Card is out?
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) always release the result of the qualified candidates in the exam on its official website. The IES result so announced is in the pdf format. The list contains the roll number of the qualified applicants in the order. Candidates can check the result as per the prescribed date on upsc.gov.in. The commission announces a different result for every phase of the exam. The qualified candidates whose names will be on the result list are qualified for the main exam.
About UPSC IES
The examination for UPSC IES is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Candidates must fulfil the required eligibility criteria, an engineering degree, to apply for the examination. Applicants have to qualify through the 3 rounds of selection – preliminary exam, main exam and personality test. The prelims exam is conducted for 500 marks wherein there are 02 papers. Each question shall carry 01 marks wherein there is also negative marking of 1/3rd of marks.
The Stage 1 of the exam is the Preliminary Exam (Prelims), which consists of 2 objective type papers. The maximum marks is 500 and the total duration of the exam is 5 hours. The answers will have to be marked in the OMR sheet provided to the candidates. It is mandatory to use only a black ballpoint pen on the OMR sheet. Paper 1 (General Studies and Engineering Aptitude) is of maximum 200 marks and Paper 2 (Engineering Discipline specific) is of 300 marks. The questions are of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type with a negative marking of ⅓, for each wrong answer. Paper 1 will be conducted from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. After a 2-hour break, Paper 2 will commence at 2:00 p.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m. Candidates are required to report to the exam hall atleast 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
Once the exam is completed, the provisional answer key of the Prelims exam will be released by the UPSC. Candidates will be given an opportunity to raise their objections against the answer key. Once the objection window is closed, the objections will be reviewed and the final answer key will be released.
Candidates who secure the minimum marks and qualify the Stage 1 exam will have to appear for the Stage 2 exam (Mains), which is expected to be conducted on June 26, 2022. The Mains exam is conducted in 2 papers, carrying 300 marks each. Questions will be asked from the specific engineering discipline, depending on the candidate’s background. The total duration of the Mains exam is 3 hours. Candidates who qualify Mains exam will be shortlisted for Personality Test (Stage III), which has a weightage of 200 marks. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks scored by the candidates in all the 3 stages. Selected candidates have to appear for document verification and medical examination, before being recruited.
