OPSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2019 Eligibility Criteria
The OPSC is very strict when it comes to accepting applications from prospective candidates about their qualifications and age limit. Hence it has prescribed a fixed eligibility criteria that the applicants must check before applying for the vacancies that have opened for Medical Officer (Assistant Surgeon) posts. The eligibility criteria has been elaborated in the following sections.
Academic Qualification Eligibility
- The candidate must have acquired an MBBS or any equivalent Degree from a Medical College or Medical Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India.
- The candidate must have a valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical “Registration Rules 1965”; and
- Conversion certificates recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) (only for candidates having Degrees from a Foreign National University.
Age Limit Eligibility
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 (Twenty one) years and must not be above the age of 32 (Thirty two) years as on 1st January 2019 i.e he/she must have born not earlier than 2nd January 1985 and not later than 1st January 1996. Age relaxation shall be as per Govt. Rules prescribed for the purpose.
Age Relaxation:
- The upper age limit prescribed in the Age Limit eligibility can be relaxed by 5 years for candidates belonging to the categories of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Women, Ex-servicemen
- The upper age limit prescribed in the Age Limit eligibility can be relaxed by cumulative 10 years for candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped category, whose permanent disability is 40% or more.
Note: For Age Relaxation, appropriate certificates proving that the candidate falls under the category, as claimed by the candidate, must be presented upon being asked.
OPSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2019 Application Form

OPSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2019 Admit Card
The Selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts of Medical Officers (Assistant Surgeon) will be made on the basis of the written test. The Admit Card that will be required to appear in the Written Test will be issued online to those candidates whose applications will be found to be fulfilling the eligibility criteria, without any shortcomings that had been filled well before the last date of submission of application forms set by the OPSC. OPSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2019 Exam Pattern
The written examination is the sole basis upon which the eligible candidates will be recruited into the Medical Officer (Assistant Surgeon) Posts that are vacant in Odisha state. Hence the difficulty level will be set accordingly. The syllabus set for OPSC MO (AS) Recruitment Written Test is the same as per MCI Syllabus for the MBBS degree. The written examination shall have one paper carrying 200 marks for which the time duration allotted will be 3 hours. There will be a total of 200 questions which will be objective type multiple choice questions (MCQ). There will be no negative marking for wrong answers, so candidates can attempt all questions.

OPSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2019 Selection Process
The selection of candidates for OPSC Medical Officer Recruitment 2019 to the posts of Medical Officer (Assistant Surgeon) will be made on the basis of the written test. The qualifying marks will be decided by the Commission.
