Overview of OTET 2021
Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. The examination is conducted every year as an eligibility test for the applicants for the appointment of Class I to Class VIII teacher in government, private schools of the Odisha.
Those candidates who have qualified class 12th or graduation can apply for Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test. There are 02 papers in Odisha TET exam – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is conducted for those who wish to be a teacher of class I to class V. For class VI to class VIII teacher, Paper 2 is organized.

- Candidates who are eligible for Paper II are not eligible to apply for Paper I.
- Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test exam does not guarantee jobs/employment to the eligible candidates. It is only an eligibility examination that serves as the eligibility for the appointment of the teachers.

Preparation Tips for Odisha TET 2021
To prepare for the teacher eligibility test, candidates must start their preparation understanding the syllabus and examination pattern. Know the important topics of the syllabus, weightage of different section, marking scheme, time duration and everything about the examination.
Once a candidate is done with syllabus, they can prepare their study plan. Create strategies through which complete syllabus gets covered and candidates get time for practising papers. OTET 2021 Exam Pattern
The examinations of Odisha TET is divided into two papers –
- Paper 1 for Primary Level Teacher (class I to class V)
- Paper 2 for Upper Primary Teacher (class VI to class VIII)
Here is the scheme of examination for both Paper 1 and Paper2 which candidates may refer for preparation:
Paper 1 Exam Pattern:
- Multiple choice questions are asked in the Paper 1.
- There will be 04 alternatives out of which one will be correct.
- Each question of Paper 1 carries 01 mark and there is no negative marking.

OTET 2021 Eligibility
Candidates who possess the below educational qualification and fulfils the other mentioned eligibility criteria can fill Odisha TET application.
Nationality and Nativity
Candidate must be an Indian moreover must be a domicile of Odisha.
Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for OTET.
Educational Qualification
Category A (Paper-1)
- 12th standard or it’s equivalent with minimum 50% marks and 02-year Diploma in Elementary education (CT or D.El.Ed)
- OR
- 12th pass or it’s equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks and 02-year Diploma in elementary education in accordance with NCTE
- OR
- 12th or it’s equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and 04 years of Bachelor of elementary education (B.El.Ed).
- OR
- 12th pass it’s equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks ad 02-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- OR
- Graduation with 02 years of Diploma in elementary education
- OR
- Graduation with minimum 50% marks and B.Ed in accordance with NCTE
Category-B (Paper II)
- Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and 01 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
