OTET 2019 will be held in online mode by BSE Odisha. Previously, Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test was held on January 16, 2019. However BSEO had to cancel the exam due to paper leak. Now to avoid such a situation again, it has been decided by Board of Secondary Education to hold state level TET to determine eligibility for teachers of classes I to VIII as computer based test. OTET 2018-2019 re-exam or OTET 2019 exam date notification and other details will be available soon. OTET 2019 Exam Date:- BSE Odisha will announce exam date of OTET 2018-2019 re-exam or OTET 2019 new exam. As soon as date is out, candidates can check it from here and official website bseodisha.ac.in.

OTET 2019

OTET 2019 paper I is conducted for class I to V teachers, and paper II for class VI to VIII teachers. It is compulsory to clear Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test in order to become a teacher of these classes. As per final decision of BSE Odisha, complete details of OTET 2019 are being updated here. Changes in OTET Exam

After the paper leak of 16 Jan exam, BSE Odisha has decided to hold OTET exam in online computer based test mode. Detailed information on the same is yet to come. However news reports have confirmed it.

School and Mass Education department secretary, Pradipta Mohapatra confirmed it to media outlets at the time of declaring Odisha Class 10 board results.

OTET 2019 Question Paper Leak

  • BSE Odisha was supposed to conduct OTET 2018-2019 paper I and paper II in two sittings on January 16, 2019.
  • First shift was from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, and second shift was from 2 PM to 4:30 PM.
  • While the first shift was ongoing, it came to light that the question paper was leaked.
  • The exam conducting body confirmed that indeed question paper had been leaked. Immediately, the exam was cancelled for both papers.
  • Overall 1.12 lakh candidates had applied for the exam.
  • BSE Odisha was holding the teacher eligibility test at 250 examination centres across the state.
  • After cancelling the exam, the board announced that it will hold the next exam in online computer based test mode. In addition, security measures were made better for board exams.
  • Even those who appeared in the exam in January will have to appear again.

OTET 2019 Application Form

  • BSE Odisha invited applications from eligible candidates for Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test in online mode only at bseodisha.ac.in.
  • For the exam to be held in January, online applications were invited in November 2018 in a window of 16 days. Application fee had to be paid via SBI Collect in online or offline modes.
  • The application form had 6 sections namely (a) Personal Information, (b) Eligibility Criteria, (c) Educational Qualification, (d) Address, (e) Information Sheet, (f) Declaration and Payment.
  • Candidates had to enter their details in each section and then pay fee.

Will applications be again invited for OTET re-exam?

It is not yet clear whether OTET 2018-2019 re-exam will be held or fresh applications will be invited. In either case, BSE Odisha will give clear instructions before holding exam.

Application fee of OTET Exam

  • Rs 300 for SC / ST candidates
  • Rs 500 for all others

Candidates could pay fee via SBI in either online mode through net banking, ATM card, or offline mode using cash payment using bank challan. For offline payment, DU refernce number is generated before payment. Candidates had to then download the Pre Acknowledgement Payment form and go to nearest SBI branch to pay fee.

OTET Eligibility Criteria

The candidates who possess the below qualification and fulfills other aspects of eligibility can fill the application form of OTET 2018.

Nationality: Indian
Nativity: The candidates should have the domicile of Odisha
Age Limit: No upper age limit there.

Persons having the following minimum qualifications shall be eligible for appearing in OTET.

Category-A ( Paper- I )

  • Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education(CT). OR
  • Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
  • Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 2-year Diploma in Special Education.

Category-B ( Paper- II )

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). OR
  • Graduation with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed.(Special Education). OR
  • Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed.

Provided that relaxation of 5% minimum qualifying marks in +2 or graduation level, as the case may be, shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC/ SEBC category.

Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test Exam Pattern

There are two papers in the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test. The paper I is for primary level for the candidates who want to take eligibility certificate of teacher for Class I to V can attempt Paper I. And those who want to take the eligibility certificate in Upper Primary Level (Class VI to VIII) can opt for Paper II.

The scheme of Paper I and II are given here. The candidates should note that there is no provision for negative marking in the exam.

All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions, each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. Questions will be set to assess the candidate’s ability to analyze, interpret and apply the subject matter. There will be no negative marking.

OTET 2019 Admit Card

  • BSE Odisha released admit card of Odisha TET to be held on January 16, 2019, on January 9, 2019.
  • Although link to download it was notified at official website of BSE Odisha, admit card was hosted at indiaresults.com.
  • Candidates could download the admit card using registration number and email ID.
  • Now whenever BSE Odisha conducts OTET 2019, new admit cards will be released.
  • Candidates must download fresh admit cards as old ones will no longer be valid for new exam.
  • Candidates will have to take printout of OTET admit card 2019 along with other relevant documents to exam center on day of exam.

Login details to download admit card:- You will need registration number and email ID to download OTET admit card.

OTET 2019 Answer Key

  • BSE Odisha always releases OTET and OSSTET answer keys after exam.
  • Answer key of Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test 2019 will be available at bseodisha.ac.in.
  • It contains correct answers of all 150 questions asked in exam.
  • Answer keys are published paper wise (I and II) and set wise (A, B, C, D).
  • Candidates should download and check their answers against that answer key only for which they have question paper.
  • Candidates can use the official answer keys to check their answers to predict score even before result is announced.
  • Answer key is published directly as PDF file. There is no need to login to get them.

Candidates may please note that since the 16 Jan 2019 exam was cancelled, answer keys for it will not be released. Now directly OTET 2019 answer key for re-exam or new exam will be available.

OTET 2019 Result

  • BSE Odisha will announce result of OTET 2019 at bseodisha.ac.in.
  • The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test results are published via login.
  • Candidates have to login to check their result indicating score obtained in paper 1/2, and whether they have qualified or not.
  • Candidates who obtain marks equal to or more than the qualifying marks only are declared as qualified.
  • Only those who qualify as per OTET results are provided with TET eligibility certificate and they can then participate in Odisha Teacher Recruitment for classes I to VIII.

Qualifying marks:- As per govt norms, qualifying marks are 60% (90 out of 150) in Odisha TET.
