Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) Result 2016 has been published online. The result of PSTET 2016 indicates whether one has qualified or not. Qualifying status depends on marks scored in the exam that was held on 25 September 2016. In order to have a fair and transparent process, the Punjab government’s department of school education released answer keys on 10 October 2016 and also invited objections. Ultimately, the PSTET result 2016 will reflect marks in exam, and if that is more than cut off, then candidate qualifies. The exam is organized to ensure quality of teacher’s recruitment. The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) imposed in 2009 created a huge vacancy for quality teachers all over India. Subsequently, Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is conducted for assuring the aptitude and potentials to encounter the challenges of teaching primary and higher level schooling.

The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) sets two papers; paper 1 is for an applicant who plans to teach from class 1 to class 5. Whereas paper 2 is set for applicants who will be teaching from class 6 to 8. In case, an applicant inspires to be a teacher for both primary and higher school can attempt both the papers.
The online registration for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) started on 4th July 2016 till 16th July 2016 as the last date of registration. However fees deposition was was extended till 17th August 2016 through net banking. This year the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) was held successfully on 25th September 2016 and the results will shortly be declared by November.
The examination dates were early scheduled this year to avoid clashing dates with other government examinations. Usually, it takes two months time to assess the papers to declare the results, as there is a huge number applicant who has appeared this year.

Follow the procedures to check your results online
- Login to Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) official web page at ‘www.pstet.org.in ‘
- Look out for the PSTET 2016 result tab and click on that and wait
- This will lead to a new page on the monitor
- Click on the section where it asks you to enter hall ticket/ enrollment number/roll number etc
- Enter the details and click on OK
- Both the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) paper 1 & 2 will appear click to check.
- Do not forget to download the results; in future, it may be helpful.
On successful qualification PSTET, a candidate is entitled to seven years of service from the date of declaration. A successful applicant can also retake the test for improving their score card. The unqualified candidates can re-appear for the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) as many times they wish to.
