RBI Grade B Recruitment – Vacancy and Pay Scale Details
The total distribution of vacancies is as below:

RBI Grade B Salary – The starting basic salary is Rs. 35,150 per month, in the scale of Rs. 35150-1750(9)-50900-EB-1750(2)-54400-2000(4)-62400. The candidates will also be entitled to Dearness Allowance, Local allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family allowance, and Grade Allowance. The approximated initial monthly gross emoluments will be 67,933.
RBI Grade B 2017 – Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of RBI Grade B 2017 is to be fulfilled by all the candidates and is as below:
Nationality – Candidate must be a citizen of India. The citizens of Nepal/Bhutan/Tibetan Refugee/Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam can also apply but if they are intending to settle permanently in India.
Age Limit – Candidates should be more than 21 years but less than 30, as on May 01, 2017. The relaxation on upper age limit is as below:
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
- J&K (Domicile issued between 1st January, 1980, to the 31st day of December, 1989) – 5 years
- Ex-Service Men – 5 years
- PwD – 10 years
Educational qualification – The education qualification form each position is as below:
- Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR General) – 60% marks in 10, 12, and Graduation. Criterion is 50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR DEPR) – 55% marks in Master’s. For SC/ST/PwD 50% marks.
- Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR DSIM) – 55% marks in Master’s. For SC/ST/PwD 50% marks
Number of Attempts – There is no attempts bar for reserved category candidates. However, general category candidates who have already appeared for Paper I six time, are not eligible.
RBI Grade B 2017 Selection Process
The selection of the candidates will be done in three phases.
- First, the candidates will have to appear for Phase I (Preliminary Exam).
- Candidates who will qualify pre exam will be allowed to appear for Phase II (Main Exam).
- The qualifiers of Main examination will be called for Interview Round and final selection.

RBI Garde B Recruitment Admit Card 2017
The admit card for RBI Grade B officer is available. The candidates may download it from the link above. It has only been released for the registered candidates.
To download the admit card, the candidates will have to enter the Registration Number/Roll Number and Password/Date of Birth. The candidates will have to carry admit card at the exam hall and with it, they must also carry one Photo ID Card.

RBI Grade B 2017 Exam Pattern
Phase 1 – Exam
- Total duration will be of 2 hours.
- Maximum marks that can be obtained is 200.
- Questions will be objective type.
Phase 2 – Exam
- Duration for each paper will be 90 minutes or 1.5 hours.
- Total duration will be of 4.5 hours.
- Maximum marks that can be obtained is 300.
