How is the MAHA TET result declared?

• Interim result: appears in the candidate login on mahatet.in. For 2025 it was available from 6.00 p.m. on 16 January 2026.
• Objections to the interim result: in 2025, these were accepted only online through the login, from 16 to 21 January 2026 until 6.00 p.m. In 2024, objections were taken online from 1 to 6 February 2025 and by email from 8 to 10 February 2025.

What marks do you need to qualify?

The Government Resolution of 23 August 2013 sets the pass mark at 60 per cent. SC, ST, VJ/NT, SBC, OBC and disabled candidates need 55 per cent. Paper I carries 150 marks. A resolution of 30 June 2022 listed on mahatet.in grants a 15 per cent marks concession to ex-servicemen and to the wives and families of martyred soldiers. The 2013 resolution also lets a candidate who has passed sit the test again any number of times to improve their score.

How are certificates verified and issued?

The 2026 press note says candidates sit the exam provisionally, subject to verification of their original certificates. The result is declared first, and educational and professional documents are checked when certificates are distributed. If documents are incomplete, or do not match the online application, the candidature is cancelled.

• 2024: MSCE said a copy of the certificate would reach qualified candidates through the Education Officer (Primary), Zilla Parishad, or the Education Inspector, Mumbai (North/South/West).
• 2025: a letter of 28 April 2026 told the confidential press to send the Paper 1 and Paper 2 certificates by speed post directly to each district's Education Officer (Primary) or Education Inspector, with district-wise lists of qualified candidates.

Does qualifying MAHA TET guarantee a job?

No. The 2013 resolution states that passing the Teacher Eligibility Test does not give a direct job or any right to one. Teachers need both the prescribed academic and professional qualifications and a TET pass, and must then apply for posts under the recruitment rules. The 2026 press note says the test must be passed first by anyone seeking appointment as shikshan sevak or teacher in classes 1 to 8 in any management, board or medium.
