All India Institute of Medical Sciences offers the following posts of Senior Resident / Senior Demonstrators for the tenure period of 3 years. Here confusion can arise, that what is Senior Resident & Senior Demonstrators. A Senior Resident is a person who spends 3 years before he/she get their Specialization. In the same way, a Senior Demonstrators has to spend a period of three years. And during the tenure period, they get the salary, which includes basic pay + grade pay. But work profile of both is different. The work profile of Senior Demonstrator is to demonstrate the use of practical equipment (including where relevant, software packages) etc.
AIIMS Invites applications for both of the posts every year two times. The sessions are running two times in a year. The session which star at the beginning of the year that is called January Session. And next one is July Session. AIIMS SR SD Recruitment
The selection of these post is based on the Computer Based Test and an Interview. The combined merit list decide the future of the candidates. As we said above the session runs two times in a year. The important dates of this year sessions are given here.

Every year a good amount of vacancies are released by the AIIMS. Last Year it was 322 post. And this year it is 387 posts.
Age Limit – The upper age limit for applying these posts is 37 years.
Educational Qualification – Candidates who possess PG in Medical Degree / M.S Degree / M.D Anesthesia / M.Sc degree are eligible to apply.
For Medical Candidates
A postgraduate medical degree viz. MD/MS/MDS/DNB in the respective discipline from a recognized University/Institute/or equivalent qualification thereto.
For Non-Medical Candidates (For subjects of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Biophysics)
- The candidate should possess M.Sc. Degree in the subject concerned and
- Ph.D. in the subject concerned/allied subject from a recognized University/Institute.
For the posts of Senior Demonstrators in Medical Physics
M.Sc. in Medical Physics with one-year experience OR its equivalent recognized qualification OR M.Sc. in Physics with Diploma in Radiological Physics.
For Lab. Medicine
A postgraduate medical degree viz. MD in Laboratory Medicine / Pathology / Microbiology / Biochemistry from a recognized University/Institute
For Dental (Conservative & Endodontics)
MDS/DNB (Conservative & Endodontics) or MDS/DNB (Operative Dentistry) or equivalent
Centers for competitive Recruitment Test
The Recruitment Test will be conducted in cities listed below in online [Computer Based Test (CBT)] mode only.
The city of examination shall be allotted on first-come-first-serve basis subject to availability of nodes in respective city. So candidates have to choose the city at the time of applying for the AIIMS Senior Resident July 2018. In case, a city is cancelled as the center. Then AIIMS will re-allocate the examination center. and it will be final.
Examination Pattern: AIIMS SR SD Recruitment
The recruitment will be on the basis of the CBT(Computer Based Test) and an Interview.
Examination Scheme for CBT(Computer Based Test)
- The duration of the Test is 1 & 1/2 hours (90 minutes).
- The Competitive Entrance Examination will have one paper in the English language.
- Paper will consist the 80 (Eighty) Objective Type (Multiple Choice types) questions.
- The paper will consist of maximum 80 marks.
- Marking Scheme: Each correct response will get a score of 1 mark. There will be no negative marking.
Examination Scheme for Interview: The Interview will carry 20 marks.
Aspirants who will appear for the Computer Based Test, Shall have to obtain the minimum qualifying marks in order to qualify the round. And the candidates who will clear the CBT round shall have to face the interview round. After clearing the both round, the candidate has to wait for the merit list. The merit will be on the basis of the marks obtained in both rounds.
