History of Allahabad High Court Recruitment
Allahabad High Court was established on 17 March 1866 as the fourth high court of India. It was established for North-Western Provinces in the city of Allahabad (now, Prayagraj) but was shifted to Agra within a year. Then again in the year 1868, it was shifted back to the city of Allahabad. It was established through “Through Indian High Courts Act 1961” and replaced then place of justice the “Sadr Diwani Adalat”.
The high court was named “High Court of Judicature at Allahabad” on 11th March 1919. After some years, in 1925, the chief court of Oudh also amalgamated with the High court of Allahabad which marked as one of the biggest steps of amalgamation in the history of North-western Provinces.
In the year 2000, when the region of Uttaranchal was separated and formed a new state of Uttarakhand, the high court of Allahabad lost its jurisdiction over that region. Presently, Mr. Govind Mathur is the honourable Chief Justice of Court of Allahabad.
Amalgamation of Oudh Chief court with High Court
The amalgamation of Oudh Chief Court with High court of Allahabad was a major step taken by the Oudh judicial Commissioner. This amalgamation gave the right to the High court of Allahabad for jurisdiction over the region of Lucknow. It was initiated and enacted through United Provinces Legislature. The amalgamation took place on 11 March 1919. Sri B. Mulik was appointed as the former chief justice of the newly amalgamated high court.
Structure Of High Court
The High Court comes just under the Supreme court in the basic hierarchy of Jurisdiction. The high court has jurisdiction over a state of India. The High Court of Allahabad is the judiciary in power for the state of Uttar Pradesh. The high court gives guidelines to the district courts of the state. The cases which are not resolved in the district court comes to the high court for appeal. The high court of Allahabad has sanctioned increase in capacity of serving Judges from 109 to 160 this year which is the highest in all over India. Allahabad High Court has its permanent circuit bench at Lucknow but has the seat of the court at Prayagraj (Allahabad).
