Marital status– Unmarried
Gender– Male, as well as female candidates, can apply.
Nationality– The applicants must be a citizen of any of the following countries
Candidates belonging to following categories are also eligible to apply.
- Tibetan refugees who crossed over to India (before January 01, 1962) and who intended to settle permanently in India
- A POI (Person of Indian Origin) who migrated from any of the following countries with an intention to settle permanently India: Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Kenya, Uganda, Vietnam or Ethiopia.
Age Limit (as on July 01, 2020) – 21 to 27 years
Educational Qualifications– The candidates must have a 3-year LLB degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks. Such a degree must be obtained from an institution/university recognized by the Bar Council of India. The candidates must also be eligible to register as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State.
Indian Army JAG 2020 / JAG 25 Selection Process

The first stage is to apply by filling the application form. The candidates are then shortlisted based on their application for the SSB rounds.
The selected candidates for the SSB rounds have to appear for SSB interview rounds as per the dates and venue allotted in their SSB call letter.
SSB interview has 2 rounds. The candidates qualifying the first round go to round 2. the candidates not qualifying the round 1 are sent back home.
The candidates who qualify the round 2 of the SSB interview have to appear for the medical standard test next.
On qualifying the medical tests, the candidates selected in order of merit based on their interview rounds and medical round are issued joining letter for training.

Once the application process ends, the candidates who are selected for the SSB rounds can check their allotted SSB centres. The same is intimated to them via their registered email id. The email containing the SSB centre allotment is sent to the candidates 2-3 weeks after the application process ends. Note that only the selected candidates, based on the scrutiny of the application form, are sent emails regarding SSB selection centres.

Scheduling of SSB Interview Dates for Indian Army JAG 2020 / JAG 25
The candidates, who get emails regarding the SSB centres, have to select the dates for the SSB interview next. The candidates can avail this facility, through the official website of Indian Army recruitments, after the centre allotment is done. The candidates, who have been allotted the centres, must log-in on the website and schedule their interview on any available date. The scheduling of interviews is done on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Request for change of SSB interview date/centre is NOT entertained.

The candidates need to carry the interview call letter with them while appearing for SSB interviews. After the candidates choose the interview dates, they can download the SSB call letter. Indian Army JAG 2020 / JAG 25 call letter is sent to the candidates on registered email ids. Prior intimation is sent to the candidates in this regard. The call letter has the date and time of interview on it. Candidates need to carry a printed copy of the admit card along with original documents to the selection/interview centres.

Indian Army JAG 2020 / JAG 25 Result
The candidates, who appear for the SSB interviews and the medical standard test, can check their result in the form of a merit list. How is the merit list for Indian Army JAG 2020 / JAG 25 prepared?
The preparation of the merit list is based on the marks of the candidates in the SSB interview rounds solely. The higher educational qualification, previous performances etc have no role to play in the final merit list for selection.

Indian Army JAG 2020 / JAG 25 Training
After getting selected through the SSB rounds, the candidates are required to undergo pre-commission training. The training period lasts for 49 weeks. The Indian Army conducts the training procedures for selected candidates at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. Candidates are not allowed to marry or live with their parents during the training period. The candidates are granted ‘Post-graduate Diploma in Defence Management and Strategic Studies’ upon successful completion of the training period.
