Medical Examination
Recommended candidates go through the procedure of medical examination at the selection centres.
General Procedure
Candidates who have cleared the SSB appears in front of the medical board. Military hospital take the time of 4-5 days and completes medical board, once done candidates gets dispersed. Examination of NDA candidates are done for Navy and Army both, if not instructed otherwise, accordingly fitness endorsement is made. Candidates are guided by the President of medicak board for any review or appear related procedure of the medical board. President Special Medical Board can advise the candidates on appeal or review if they are rejected and declared unfit.
Appeal Medical Board’s Procedure
Appeal Medical Board is conducted at one of the hospitals as listed below:
- Command Hospital, Southern Command, Pune.
- Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt.
- Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow.
- Command Hospital, Eastern Command, Kolkata.
- Command Hospital, Air Force, Bangalore.
- INHS, Ashvini, Mumbai.
- Command Hospital, Northern Command, C/o 56 APO.
- Command Hospital, Western Command, Chandimandir.
Candidates have to report for the medical examination within the defined timeline of 42 days. This deadline starts from the date Special Medical Board last examined the candidate for re-examination with the MRO/TR’s receipted copy, directed by the Medical Board’s President. Efforts are made to ensure that the Medical Board is completed in one day.
Review Medical Board
If Appeal Medical Board has declared a candidate unfit, then the candidate can challenge the same and there are chances that she/he may get a chance to get the medical proceedings reviews. This decision is taken on the basis of the merit of the case. Request regarding a review should be sent to the Recruiting Directorate (Personnel & Coord), Army Headquarters, West Block III, RK Puram, New Delhi, and a copy of the same should be sent to President of Appeal Medical Board.
All this should be done within a day of Appeal Medical Board’s holding. RMB applications are routed through the DG AFMS. Decision related to RMB’s grant is taken by DG AFMS, and not called as the matter of right. R&R Hospital Delhi Cantt and AFMC, Pune is where RMBs are conducted.
Military Nursing Service
Female candidates who have successfully passed their PB B Sc (Nursing)/MSc (Nursing)/B Sc(Nursing) and are a citizen of Indian can apply for Short Service Commission in Military Nursing Service.
