Department of Public Instruction Karnataka was supposed to release application form of Karnataka TET 2018 on September 22, 2018, at schooleducation.kar.nic.in. But it has released the testing link of application form on the official website, which is working up to registration module. There is no more information about when application form will be released.  As those who qualify Karnataka TET 2018 will get the eligibility certificate for teaching in the state Karnataka. KARTET 2018 certificate validity for a period of seven years. There is no restriction to the number of attempts candidates can have for Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test. Eligible candidates can apply for KARTET 2018. Karnataka TET 2018

Application form submission will be released online at the Official website of the exam www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in. There are two papers namely Paper I (for classes I to V teacher) and Paper II (for classes VI to VIII teachers). If you are intending to be eligible for all classes, then appear in both Paper I and II, otherwise in only one. Once you apply for KARTET 2018, you will get registration number and login details.

Candidates who are interested and going to participate in Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test 2018, can fill the application form as per schedule mention below. Candidates are advised to read the instruction carefully before filling the application form.

Educational Qualification: The applicants must possess 12th with at least 50% marks or B.A / B.Sc Graduation & Diploma in Elementary Education or Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I to V: Primary Stage – Paper I

  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. OR
  • B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI- VIII: Elementary Stage – Paper II

  • B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • B.A / B.Sc Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A /B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed /B.Sc.Ed. OR

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

All questions in KARTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of KARTET

  • Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
