Karnataka TET 2016 is being conducted by Centralized Admission Cell. It is compulsory to qualify Karnataka TET 2016 in order to teach classes 1st to 8th. KARTET 2016-2017 certificate validity for a period of seven years. There is no restriction to the number of attempts candidates can have for Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test. Eligible candidates can apply for KARTET 2016. Applicants are issued Karnataka TET admit card that can be downloaded from the website. Key points regarding Karnataka TET 2016-17

  • Application form submission has to be done online. Official website of the exam is www.schooleducation.kar.nic.in.
  • There are two papers namely Paper I (for classes I to V teacher) and Paper II (for classes VI to VIII teachers). If you are intending to be eligible for all classes, then appear in both Paper I and II, otherwise in only one.
  • Once you apply for for KARTET 2016-17, you will get registration number and login details. Keep them safely as you will need them to download Karnataka TET Admit Card 2016-17.
  • On day of exam carry all important documents and items only.
  • After exam you can check answer key of KARTET 2016-17 online, and thereafter the results.

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I to V : Primary Stage – Paper I

  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. OR
  • B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

Exam Pattern & Syllabus

All questions in KARTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of KARTET

  • Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
