Educational Qualification
For Personal Assistant to the Hon’ble Judges Post
- Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Medicine, Commerce, Engineering, or any other discipline of a recognised University in Indian Union, in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern
- Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting in English – Higher Grade.
- They should have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation.
For Personal Assistant (to the Registrars)/ Personal Clerk (to the Deputy Registrars) Post
- Bachelor Degree in Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering, Medicine, or any other discipline of a recognised University in Indian Union, in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern
- Should have qualified the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting in English and Tamil.

- Common Written Exam –
- Marks that a candidate scores in the written exam are only qualifying in nature. This means the same will not be counted for the final result.
- All those candidates who qualify the Common Written Examination are called for the Skill Test.
- Skill Test –
- To appear for the oral test, candidates have to qualify the shorthand exam in English as well as in Tamil.
- Aspirants will be shortlisted for the oral test as per merit list.
- Oral Test
- In this stage, candidates’ as assessed the suitability for the posts.
- They are tested based on their language skills, mental alertness, vocabulary, skills attitude, ethics, character, grasping power, expertise in computer skills etc.
- This stage is conducted for 15 marks.

In case a candidate has applied for more than one post and they get selected for more than one post then they are selected based on the order of post notified. This means candidates will be considered from the post carrying higher pay band first and then for the lower pay band. The order is as follows – (i) for the post of Personal Assistant to the Hon‟ble Judges, (ii) for the post of Personal Assistant (to the Registrars) and (iii) for the post of Personal Clerk (to the Deputy Registrars).
