Educational Qualification – Bachelor Degree

Selection Process – Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and (ii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview.

Application Fee – One Time Registration fee is Rs. 50/- and Exam fee is Rs. 100/-.

How to Apply – Candidates have to apply online from the commission website and pay the application fee to appear in the written examination.

Madras High Court Application Form 2016

Candidates had to apply only through online in the Commission’s website www.tnpsc.gov.in. One Time Registration (OTR) and candidates Dashboard was mandatory before applying for the post.

Application Fee

  • One Time Registration Fee – Rs. 50/-
  • Examination Fee – Rs. 100/-

Candidates who have already registered in one time Registration System it is enough to pay the Examination Fee.

Important Instructions for Online Application

Candidates have to apply online through Commission website. One Time Registration (OTR) and candidate Dashboard are mandatory before applying for the post. Candidates who have already registered in One Time Registration shall use their existing user ID and Password to create Candidate Dashboard in the new One Time Registration system.

All candidates have to furnish their correct SSLC Register Number, Month and Year of Passing and Name of the Board, which issued the certificate. Any details found to be wrong, the One Time Registration and Online Application are liable for rejection at any stage.

After submitting details in the application, candidates have to pay the exam fee through Bank (Indian Bank or State Bank + service charges).

A candidate who applies for more than one post shall click the name of the posts in the column provided therefor in the online application. Candidates will be considered only for the posts for which he has applied for, in column 1 of the online application.

Eligibility Criteria

For Personal Assistant to the Hon’ble Judges Post

  • Any Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, or any other discipline of a recognised University in Indian Union, in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern
  • Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting in English – Higher Grade.
  • Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.

For Personal Assistant (to the Registrars) and Personal Clerk (to the Deputy Registrars) Post

  • Any Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, or any other discipline of a recognised University in Indian Union, in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern
  • Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand and Typewriting in English – Higher Grade and Shorthand and Typewriting in Tamil – Higher Grade.
  • Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.

For Computer Operator Post

  • Any Bachelor degree in Computer Science/ Computer Applications from a recognised University of Indian Union, in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern or
  • Any Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, or any other discipline of a recognised University in Indian Union, in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern with a diploma in Computer Applications from any recognised University or any Institute recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education
  • Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting in English and Tamil by Higher / Senior Grade.

For Typist Post

  • Any Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, or any other discipline of a recognised University in Indian Union, in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern.
  • Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting in English and Tamil by Higher / Senior Grade.
  • Must have passed the Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education.

For Reader / Examiner, Cashier & Xerox Operator Post

  • Any Bachelor Degree in Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Medicine, or any other discipline of a Recognised University in Indian Union, in 10+2+3 or 11+1+3 pattern.

Madras High Court Exam Pattern

For the Post of Personal Assistant to the Hon’ble Judges, Personal Assistants (to the Registrars) and Personal Clerk (to the Deputy Registrars)

Single question paper will contain questions on General Studies (Degree Std.) (150 items), Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (S.S.L.C Std) (50 items) (150+50 = 200 items)

For the Post of Computer Operator 

Paper-I will contain questions on General Studies (75 items), Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (25 items) and General Tamil (100 items) / General English (100 items). Paper-II will contain questions on Computer Applications. (100 items).

Madras High Court Direct Recruitment Selection Procedure

For the Posts of Personal Assistant to the Hon’ble Judges, Personal Assistant (to the Registrars) and Personal Clerk (to the Deputy Registrars):

Selection will be made in two successive stages i.e., (i) Written Examination and (ii) Oral Test in the shape of an interview. Final selection will be made on the basis of the total marks obtained by the candidates at the Written Examination and Oral Test and Educational Qualification taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointments. Candidate’s appearance in the Written Examination and Oral Test is compulsory. A candidate who has not appeared for the Written Examination or the Oral Test will not be considered for selection, even if he/she secures qualifying marks for selection.

For the Post of Computer Operator, Typist, Reader/Examiner, Cashier and Xerox Operator:

The selection will be made on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and considering the Educational Qualification following the rule of reservation of appointments separately for each category of post (wherever applicable). [Counselling may be conducted for the posts with Technical Qualification and NonTechnical Qualifications separately for which candidates are selected based on written Examination alone].
