Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has issued a notification for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Commissioner, Principal, PGTs, TGTs, Miscellaneous Teacher and TGTs (III Language) for the year 2016. Overall there are 2072 number of vacancies.

NVS Recruitment 2016-17 written exam will be in the month of December. In order to appear in exam, eligible candidates can apply online for Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Recruitment 2016-17 on any date between 10th September and 16th October. After that the exam conducting body will issue admit card of NVS Recruitment 2016 at www.mecbsegov.in. Once CBSE / NVS declares written exam result, the Samiti will hold interviews for shortlisted candidates. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • For TGT, Miscellaneous Categories, TGTs – 35 Years (as on 31 Jul 2016)
  • For Assistant Commissioners – upto 45 Years (as on 31 Jul 2016)
  • For Principals – Between 35 to 45 Years (as on 31 Jul 2016)
  • For PGTs – 40 Years (as on 31 Jul 2016)

Educational Qualification

Assistant Commissioners 

  • Master’s Degree in Humanities / Science / Commerce.
  • Experience of working in a residential school system.
  • Research work in the field of education.

Principals

  • Master’s Degree with minimum 50% marks.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent.
  • Persons working in any of the Govt. / Semi Govt. / Govt. Recognized / CBSE affiliated Sr. Secondary (10+2) schools / Inter college.
  • At least three years experience as House Master of a fully residential school.
  • Experience of working in a fully residential / CBSE affiliated / Govt. recognized school.
  • Proficiency in English and Hindi / concerned Regional language.

Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) 

  • Two Year Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. Course from RCE of NCERT in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent qualification for all the PGT posts except Information & Technology.
  • Proficiency in Teaching in Hindi and English languages.

Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs)

  • Four years integrated degree course of RCE of NCERT with minimum 50% marks in the concerned subject as well as in the aggregate.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent.
  • Competence to teach through English and Hindi/concerned Regional language as the case may be.
  • Should pass Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).
  • Experience of working in a residential school.
  • Knowledge of Computer application.

TGT (Third Language Teachers)

  • Four years integrated degree course of RCE of NCERT with minimum 50% marks in the concerned subject as well as in the aggregate. OR
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 50% marks or above in aggregate as well as in the concerned regional language as an elective subject at degree level.
  • B.Ed. or equivalent.
  • Competence to teach through English and Hindi / concerned Regional language as the case may be.
  • Should pass Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).
  • Experience of working in a residential school.
  • Knowledge of Computer application.

The Written test will consist of one paper for PGTs, TGTs, Miscellaneous and also TGTs (III Language) separately, as under :

Selection Process

In the first place there will be a written exam. Consequently CBSE / Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti will declare result of written exam. All things considered, based on result of NVS Recruitment 2016 written exam, the body will shortlist candidates for the second round – interview.

Cut offs marks in exam as well as interview will be decided by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The samiti will select candidates for recruitment on basis of marks in exam and also interview. The decision of the Samiti about the mode of selection to the above posts and eligibility conditions of the applicants for interview shall be not only final but also binding.
