There are total 8619 vacancies for Constable and 1120 for SI. The distribution of these is as follows:

RPF Recruitment Eligibility Criteria 2018-2019
The eligibility criteria of RPF Recruitment 2018 has to be fulfilled by all the candidates. It is as follows:
Citizenship – Candidates should be a citizen of India.
Age Limit – The acceptable age will be as mentioned in class 10th certificate. For each post, the age limit is as follows:
- Sub Inspector – 20 to 25 years, as on July 01, 2018
- Constable – 18 to 25 years, as on July 01, 2018

Education Qualification – The education qualification required for Sub-Inspector and Constable is as follows:
- Sub Inspector – The candidate must possess a graduation degree from a recognized University.
- Constable – Candidates have passed SSLC / Matric / 10th from a recognized Board

Physical Requirements for RPF Recruitment 2018-2019
Candidates must not ignore physical requirements for RPF post. Such is because, no matter how eligible candidate is if they do not fulfill the RPF 2018 Physical criteria, they will not get the job.

Stage 1 – CBT of RPF Recruitment 2018-2019
Computer based test will be held simultaneously for all the Groups. The important features of RPF 2018 CBT are as follows:
Language – The exam shall be held in 15 languages, which will be:
- Manipuri, Hindi, Assamese, English, Punjabi, Urdu, Oriya, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu, Gujarati, Konkani, Marathi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Level of Question in the Exam – The questions in the exam will be of the class 10th level.
Sections in the Exam – The question paper will be divided into three sections that are:- General Awareness, Arithmetic, and General Intelligence and Reasoning.
Marking Scheme – 1 mark shall be awarded for the correct answer and 1/3 marks will be deducted for choosing an incorrect response.

PET and PMT of RPF Recruitment 2018-2019
RPF PET and PMT is qualifying in nature. Hall Ticket for RPF Recruitment 2018 will be released online, at least 3 weeks prior to the test. In PET and PMT, the physical ability of the candidates will be checked. The qualifying criteria of PET is:
- Running, followed by Long and High Jump
Note: Ex-servicemen are exempted from PET.

Cutoff for RPF Recruitment 2018-2019
RPF Recruitment 2018 Cutoff for CBT: The candidates will have to score a minimum of 35% marks in order to qualify the examination. The cutoff for the SC/ST candidates is 30% marks.
RPF Recruitment 2018 Cutoff for Trade Test: Candidates should have scored more than 40% marks. SC / ST candidates just need to score 35% marks.
Document Verification in RPF Recruitment 2018
Candidates who will get through CBT, PET and PMT will be called for the document verification round. Candidates have to be physically present for the RPF Recruitment 2018 document verification round. During the verification, the candidates will have to carry original and photocopies of the following documents:

Compilation of RPF Recruitment Result
For RPF Sub Inspector, the following will be used for the getting the final result:
SI – Marks in only the CBT exam will be considered.
- Out of 120, UR / OBC candidates should have secured a minimum of 42 marks. For SC / ST candidates the cutoff is 36 marks.
- Candidates must have passed PET PMT and Document Verification.
For RPF Constable, the following will be used for the getting the final result:
Constable – Marks in CBT will be considered and the candidate should have qualified PET PMT and Document Verification.
- Candidate should have scored 42 marks out of 120. The minimum marks for SC / ST is 36.
Tie Breaking in RPF Recruitment 2018-2019
If two or more candidates secure the same rank in the exam then tie-breaking will be done on the basis of age. The older candidates will be allocated higher rank.
Medical Examination under RPF Recruitment 2018-2019
Candidates selected as per the final result will be called for Medical examination. It will be conducted by concerned PCSCs at the railway hospital. PCSCs will send a blank attestation form with the call letter for the medical test. The candidates will have to carry it during the medical exam.
The candidates need to qualify in ‘B-1’ category, as prescribed by the Indian Railway Medical Manual. It should be noted that the candidates who wear glasses or have a flat foot, a squint eye, knock knee, colour blindness or any other bodily defect are not eligible.
Those who will pass the medical exam will be finally recruited.
RPF Recruitment 2018-2019
The application form for RPF Recruitment 2018 was available in Hindi and English language and in online mode. There was no offline application forms available. Each candidate could only submit one application form, else, the they were disqualified.
Important notice for SC / ST candidates:
- SC / ST candidates will get free travel facility for the exam and PET but only if they upload caste certificate with the RPF 2018 application form.
- During the travel, the candidates will have to show the same certificate to the Reservation Clerk and/or Ticket Checking Staff.
How to Apply for RPF Recruitment 2018: To apply, the candidates had to click on the link provided on this page. Then, the candidates had to register by submitting details such as Name, Father’s Name, Aadhaar Number, Education Board, Matric Roll Number, etc. Once, the registration was done, candidates got a registration number and password. Then, candidates were able to login and fill other details in the application form of RPF.
RPF Recruitment 2018 Application Fee: It is expected that the amount of application fee was the same as RRB Group D Recruitment 2018.
- Rs. 250 for Sc / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PwD / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class.
- Rs. 500 for candidates of other categories.
Mode of Paying the Fee: The candidates will be able to submit the application fee by – Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / SBI Bank Challan / Post Office Challan.
Note: Candidates must preserve the payment receipt if the fee paid via challan. It is to be produced during the Document Verification Round.
Refund of RPF Recruitment 2018 Application Fee: The fee amount of Rs. 250 will be refunded to reserved category candidates. To others, Rs. 400 shall be refunded. The refund for online payment will be credited in the same account. Whereas, for the refund of the fee paid via challan, the candidates will have to give the following details:
- Beneficiary Name
- Bank Name
- Account Number
- IFSC Code
Choosing an RRB Group and Zone: During the RPF Recruitment application form filling, the candidates will have to choose a Group of Zonal Railway or RPSF. Candidates will also be required to give their preference for individual zones. For choosing the correct Group of Zonal Railway and individual Zone, refer to the table below:

Note: Only one Zone is to be selected in the application form. More than one group or zone shall lead to rejection.
Before applying for RPF Recruitment, it is important to note that if a candidate will apply for ‘Group F’, i.e. RPSF, then they shall have to serve in RPSF only. Posting will only be possible after promotion to a Gazetted rank.
Modification and Editing of RPF Recruitment
After the final submission of the application form, the candidates got the opportunity to make corrections in the application form. The important points to know about the RPF 2018 modification was as follows:
- Candidates were only able to make minor changes through the correction window.
- Correction of data, other than State, E-mail ID, Phone Number, can be done by remitting Rs. 250.
- It can only be done twice.
- Modification fee is to be paid by candidates belonging to all the categories.
