SSC JE Exam Pattern 2022 – The Staff Selection Commission prescribes the exam pattern for the SSC Junior Engineer exam on its official site (ssc.nic.in) every year. The exam consists of two papers. Paper 1 is an objective type computer-based paper and tests the candidate’s general awareness, engineering knowledge, and reasoning skills. Paper 2 is an objective-based paper and asks questions regarding civil/electrical/mechanical engineering based on the educational qualification of the candidate. SSC JE Exam Pattern 2022

The Staff Selection Commission releases the exam pattern for the SSC JE exam through an official notification on its official site (ssc.nic.in). Check the table given below to learn more about the SSC JE Exam Pattern 2022.

  1. Paper 1 (Computer-based exam)

For Paper 1, a negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer is applied. The language medium of Paper 1 is both English and Hindi. Paper 1 is a multiple choice and objective-type paper. The time duration is 2 Hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for disabled candidates with scribe)

  1. Paper 2 (Descriptive type exam)

For Paper 2, the language medium is both Hindi and English. The candidate must choose one language to solve the paper.

  1. General Awareness: Questions regarding current affairs and the social background of India and neighboring countries are asked.
  2. Reasoning: The candidate’s knowledge and ability to understand abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computations, and other analytical functions are tested.

About SSC JE Exam

The Staff Selection Commission conducts an open competitive exam for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) for candidates from an engineering background. The exam is conducted in two stages, where Paper 1 is an objective-type computer-based test and Paper 2 is a descriptive paper that tests the candidate’s engineering knowledge. The exam is conducted in English and Hindi language.
