How is TNPSC Group 1 Result 2021 Calculated?
The result for each round is prepared by TNPSC authorities in accordance with the marking scheme of the examination. The result is published on the official website of TNPSC after the release of final TNPSC Group 1 answer key 2021. The commission publishes a Consolidated Mark List (CML) and rank list after all the stages of selection are over. Consolidated Mark List is prepared using candidates’ scores in the Mains exam and oral test.
How to Check TNPSC Group 1 Result 2021?
After the candidate have successfully given the Tamil Nadu Combined Civil Service Group 1 Examination, they can check whether they have cleared or not with the help of result. The steps to check the result from the official website are given below.
Step 1: Visit the official website of TNPSC, tnpsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Towards the right-hand side of the homepage, there is a “Results” option. Click on “Results”.

Step 3: To check TNPSC Group 1 Result, the candidate is required to enter his/her registration number in the space provided. The registration number is provided to the candidates at the time of filling the TNPSC Group 1 Application Form.

Step 4: The result is going to appear on the screen. The candidates can check their rank and marks from the result.
TNPSC Group 1 Result 2021 Selection Procedure
The selection process consists of 3 stages: Preliminary examination, Main examination and Oral test (Interview). Let us look at each stage one by one for a better understanding of the selection procedure.
- Preliminary Examination – Prelims examination is the first stage in the selection process. The prelims exam is of objective type and is conducted as a screening test only. The marks of prelims exam are not taken into account while deciding final merit of the candidates. However, the candidates still need to qualify the prelims exam in order to be eligible for the next phase.
- Main Written Examination – The qualified candidates of the prelims exam can sit for the main examination. For this round, candidates are admitted in the ratio of 1:50, i.e, for 1 post in each category, 50 candidates are admitted on the basis of marks in prelims round. Main examination is descriptive in nature. Marks secured in main examination hold weightage in the final result. After the main exam, TNPSC releases a list of candidates who are eligible for the oral test.
- Oral Test (Interview) – The candidates are invited for oral test on the basis of marks obtained in the main examination. If the vacancies in a particular communal category are 4 or below, candidates are admitted to the oral test in 1:3 ratio. However, if there are 5 or more vacancies, candidates are invited in 1:2 ratio. The original documents of the candidates are also verified during the interview. Final Selection to the advertised posts is made based on the combined scores of the main examination and oral test.
