The High Court of Delhi has released a recruitment advertisement regarding Delhi Judicial Service Exam 2017. Online applications have been invited ‘from eligible candidates for filling up 50 vacancies in Delhi Judicial Service. Delhi Judicial Service Exam 2017 will be held in two stages i.e., Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) & Main Examination (Written) after which interview/viva voce will be held on the scheduled date. Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Viva-voce.
A candidate shall be eligible to appear in the examination if he/she is:
- a citizen of India;
- a person practicing as an Advocate in India or a person qualified to be admitted as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961.
Applicant must not be more than 32 years of age as on January 01, 2018
- In the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes, the upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years.
- The upper age limit is also relaxable maximum by 5 years in the case of Ex-Servicemen.
- The upper age limit for persons with disabilities shall be relaxable by 10 years.
- General category disabled candidates would thus be eligible for age relaxation up to 10 years and SC/ST category disabled candidates would be eligible for age relaxation up to 15 years.
The candidates shall submit the application online only in the prescribed format through the official website of High Court of Delhi i.e. www.delhihighcourt.nic.in as per the schedule. Before filling up the form, the candidates are advised to read carefully the Notification/Advertisement and Instructions for Delhi Judicial Service Examination 2017. The candidates can take a printout of Application and keep it for future reference. They need not send the print out of the online application to the High Court.
The fees (non-refundable) in the sum of RS. 1000/- for General Category candidates and Rs. 200/- for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Physically Handicapped (Blind/Low vision) (mobility not to be restricted)/Orthopaedically Handicapped [OA – one arm affected (Right or left), OL – one leg affected (right or left), BL – both legs affected but not arms]/Hearing Impaired candidates should be paid through Debit Card/Internet Banking.
Admit Card for Delhi Judicial Service Exam 2017 of the eligible candidate will be uploaded on the Delhi High Court website www.delhihighcourt.nic.in. No other communication like post/ courier/ newspaper notification will be sent. Candidate can download their admit card from the website and should take the print-out of the valid Photo Admit Card for the exam using Online Application Number and other details asked and bring the same at the time of the exam. Delhi Judicial Service Examination will be held in two successive stages:
- Mode of exam: Objective Type
- Negative Marking: 25% marks will be deducted
- Candidates will be shortlisted for the Main Exam based on Prelims.
- Mode of exam: Written
- Candidates will be called for the Viva voce based on Mains.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of following:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type);
- Main Examination (Written); and
Result of Preliminary Examination & Main Examination will be announced separately by the Delhi Court. The final merit list will be published on the official website. The marks obtained in the Viva-voce will be added to the marks obtained in the Main Examination (Written) and the Candidate’s position will depend on the aggregate of both. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Examination (Written) will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination for which they are admitted by this Court viz. Preliminary Examination, Main Examination (Written) and the Viva voce shall be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the Preliminary Examination (Objective Type), Main Examination (Written) and the Viva voce, it is found that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination shall stand cancelled without any notice or further reference.
