UPSC IAS 2020 New Exam Time Table Released
After postponing the UPSC IAS 2020 (Prelims) exams from May 31, 2020, the UPSC rescheduled the exam to October 04, 2020. The announcement came out in the form of the revised timetable of events which also included the revised dates of the Main exam. As per the time table, the Main exam is scheduled to be held on Januay 8, 9, 10, 16, 17, 2021.
Candidates must note that the entrance to the Examination Venue is closed, 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the examination, i.e. 09:20 a.m for the Forenoon Session and for the afternoon session i.e. 02:20 p.m. The candidate shall be allowed to enter the Examination Venue after the closure of the entry.
How to download UPSC IAS Admit Card 2020?
IAS admit card 2020 is released through online process on the UPSC website. The steps to download the hall ticket for IAS 2020 are given below.
1st step: Visit the UPSC website, upsc.gov.in
2nd step: Click on the link ‘Admit card’ to download the IAS 2020 admit card.

3rd step: On the next window, click on the link ‘e-admit card for various examination of UPSC’.

4th step: On the next tab, link to download the admit will be available. Click on ‘download’ link.
5th step: Name of the examination appears on the next screen. Click on ‘Click here’ to download the admit card.
6th step: Lastly, a PDF having important instructions will display. Read the PDF and proceed to download hall ticket.
7th step: On the next screen, you will be asked to provide your registration Id or roll number. After providing correct details, your admit card will appear on screen. Download it for future use.
How to retrieve Registration Id of UPSC IAS Admit Card 2020?
In case candidates do not remember their registration ID then follow the instructions mentioned below. It will help them in retrieving their registration ID.
1st step: Follow all the mentioned above from step 1 to step 7.
2nd step: Click on ‘forgot registration ID’ link.
3rd step: On the next screen, enter details like your name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth and enter the random image.
4th step: Click on submit button.
5th step: Now, UPSC IAS admit card displays on the screen.

Things not to carry to the examination centre of IAS 2020

Language: Question paper of pre exam is provided in both English and Hindi language.
Exam Mode: Conducted in Offline mode.
Sections: Pre exam is divided into 02 sections.
Negative Marking: 0.33 marks allotted to the question are deducted.
Type of Questions: Pre exam is based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidates have to secure minimum 33% marks to qualify to appear for main exam.

Technical instructions to download IAS Admit Card 2020
UPSC has provided some technical instructions to avoid any issues related to network. Keep these instructions in mind while download hall ticket.
- Use suitable versions of Google chrome and mozilla firefox browser.
- Do not use mobile phone or any other gadget to download the admit card. Use windows operating system or Desktop machine.
- If you are facing problem while downloading the admit card with suitable browser, then clear your system background from all cache.
- If you are blocked by the server due to repetitive attempts then contact UPSC administration through email.

- Reach examination hall 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination. Entry to the examination hall is closed 10 minutes before the examination time for each session.
- Do not carry any gadget with you to the centre as it may be considered against the decorum of the exam hall.
- Candidates who do not have clear photographs on the admit card have to bring a clear passpost size photograph to the centre.
- Make sure that answers are correctly marked on the space provided.
- Mention name, roll number, registration Id, and name and year of the examination in all correspondence with UPSC.
What after UPSC IAS Admit Card 2020?
The answer key for IAS is released on the UPSC official website, upsc.gov.in once the exam is done. To download the answer key, click on the tab ‘examination’ provided on the top of the screen. On the drop down list, answer key option will appear. Candidates can download it directly from that link.
Answer keys are important to calculate the estimated scores of IAS 2020. For each correct answer, +2 marks are awared. And for every incorrect answer, 2/3 marks are deducted from the marks secured. Result is repared on the basis of official answer keys released by UPSC.
