Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) is organising the Kerala Administrative Exam 2020 for the first time. The plan was to initiate KAS a few years back, but due to some official reasons, it was delayed. Kerala PSC has reserved 4% of the total vacancies of KAS 2020 for differently-abled candidates. Exam Scheme of KAS 2020 Kerala
Details of the KAS 2020 Kerala exam are given below:

Preliminary Exam: Preliminary test is like a screening test, candidates who clear the preliminary test became eligible to appear in the Main exam. Those candidates who have scored high marks in the preliminary exam are called for certificate verification. It is mandatory for the candidates to report on the venue along with their documents on the specified date. After that, the list of the candidates shortlisted for the main exam will be published.
Main Examination: This exam is the descriptive one, which has 3 papers of 100 marks each. Duration of each paper is 02 hours.
Interview: Maximum marks set for the interview is 50. Marks of the interview and main examination are taken to calculate the final result of KAS 2020 Kerala.
Preparation Tips for KAS 2020 Exam

- Preliminary exam is qualifying in nature. Marks secured in pre-exam are not considered for the preparation of result. However, candidates must secure the qualifying marks. So, the candidate can start the preparation for mains examination with prelims.
- Refer to the exam pattern and syllabus and understand the standard of the exam. After this, proceed to collect mock tests, practise sets.
- Take notes in a clear manner. For example, section Independence of India has various vital topics. Create piecharts, flashcards, graphs, etc to make notes interesting, informative and easy to read.
- Read newspapers daily. This tip is valid for all three rounds of the selection procedure – pre-exam, mains an interview round. Not only does reading helps in concentration, but also keeps aspirant updated with current affairs, build command over English and helps to improve writing.
- The syllabus for KAS mains examination is not yet available. However, the questions of KAS Main exam are likely to be based on the subjects of the prelims exam. Aspirants can start their preparation with reference to the pattern.
- The focus of mains should be primarily on practising than studying. KAS Main exam is descriptive in nature. The answer should have a format which includes an introductory paragraph, main body of the answer with correct explanation, and a conclusion. Avoid unnecessary jargons which affect answer negatively.

Admission card for KAS 20120 Kerala, is available 15 days before the examination date. Eligibility Criteria for KAS 2020 Kerala
Candidates who are willing to apply for KAS 2020 Kerala exam, should keep following things in mind while applying for the recruitment:
Age Limit:
- Age limit set for the direct appointment of KAS 2020 Kerala Stream-1 is 21-32 years
- Age limit for the candidates applying in Stream-2 is 21-40 years
- Candidates applying in Stream-3 must not have crossed 50 years.
Age relaxation: Relaxation in upper age limit is as follows, in order to avail the reservation, candidates have to produce the supporting certificates to the authorities:

Education Qualification: To apply for KAS 2020 Kerala candidate must have graduation degree in any subject from a recognized university or college. Stream wise qualification for KAS 2020 Kerala is listed below:
Stream- 1:
- Should have bachelor’s degree as well as proof of doing the professional course in any subject, from the recognized university or college.
- If the candidate claim to have the qualification equivalent to the qualification mentioned above then she/he should produce the government order in order to prove the equivalency.
Stream- 2:
- Candidate should have bachelor’s degree as well as have done the professional course from the recognized university in any subject.
- Those candidates who don’t have an above degree but claim to have equivalent qualification should produce the proof supporting their claim.
- Candidates applying in stream-2 should be the approved probationer or full member of any of the government departments. Such candidates must not be a 1st gazetted officer or above in the department.
- Should have regularized in the service in any of the cadre of the Kerala State & Subordinate Service Rules 1958 or should have served in the supernumerary post in Government for at least two years. During the serving tenure, the candidate should not have been fined or imposed any penalty and should not have any criminal proceedings going on
Stream- 3:
- For stream-3 candidate should have bachelor degree which includes the professional course as well from the recognized university.
- Those candidates who don’t have an above degree but claim to have equivalent qualification should produce the proof supporting their claim.
- Candidate should have satisfactorily completed the period of probation in government cadre, and should not have any penalty imposed or charged with the criminal case.
KAS 2020 Kerala Application Form
Online application forms of KAS 2020 Kerala releases on the official website (kerala.psc.gov.in, thulasi.psc.kerala.gov.in). Candidates have to register themselves first before filling the application form. After registration, User ID of the candidate is generated, for future use, the candidate should keep this User ID and password secure. Before applying candidate should carefully read the instructions and take out the print out of application form, once it is filled.
Important instructions for filling the KAS 2020 Kerala application form are as follows:
- If the application is not filled in compliance with the instructions and notifications, it will get rejected.
- Mobile number and e-mail ID that the candidate has mentioned in the application form, should not be changed later, at any cost.
- No changes are allowed in the application form later.
- The photograph that the candidate is uploading should be recent. It should have the candidate’s name on it and also the date, when the photograph was taken, at the bottom.
- There are questions included in Part I and Part II of the preliminary exam, in order to judge the proficiency of the candidate in Malayalam/Tamil/Kannada. Candidates have to mention the language of the question while filling the application. Candidates are not allowed to take the examination in any other language, other than the one they have opted for.
- Candidates serving in State Government or Central Government should have to bring the NOC from the department they are working with.
KAS 2020 Kerala Result
Once all the three rounds preliminary test, the main examination and interview are done for KAS 2020 Kerala, the result will be declared. Marks of the preliminary exam are not counted in the final result, hence the score of main examination and interview will decide the result for KAS 2020 Kerala.
