Know the Syllabus

Gujarat SET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Age limit – There is no upper age limit for Gujarat SET.
Educational qualification
- Applicants must have completed or are studying a master’s degree in the final year of the UGC.
- Applicants who have earned 55% of their Master’s degree in Science, Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications. OR equivalent examination from UGC recognized universities/institutions may apply for a SET.
- Applicants who belong to the Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) of the Non-Creamy Layer / Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/PWD (PH-Physically Handicapped / VH-Visually Handicapped) category / Transgender category who have obtained a 50 percent mark in their master’s degree from any university/institute are eligible to apply.
- Candidates who are taking their final degree examination or are going to appear, or candidates have already appeared, and their results are still awaited. These candidates are eligible to apply but must complete their Master’s degree examination within two years from the date of the declaration of results of the GSET exam with the necessary percentage of marks, failing so they are to be treated as disqualified.
- Ph.D. holders whose master’s degree was completed by 19 September 1991 (regardless of the date of the declaration of results) are eligible for a relaxation of 5 percent in aggregate marks (from 55% to 50 percent) to appear in the GSET exam.

Gujarat SET Application Form 2020
Gujarat SET 2020 Application Form is available online at gujratset.ac.in. In order to fill the application form, candidates have to pay the application fee through SBI epay. Candidate must check their eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Candidates are neither required to send any certificate/documents in support of their eligibility not a printout of their own Application Form to Gujarat State Eligibility Test office, Vadodara.

- General/ SEBC (Non-creamy layer)/ EWS/ Candidates – Rs. 900/-+Bank Charges.
- ST/ SC / Transgender Candidates – Rs. 700/-+Bank Charges.
- PWD (PH / VH) Candidates – Rs. 100/-+Bank Charges.

Gujarat SET 2020 Exam Pattern
Gujarat Government conducts State Eligibility Test (GSET) for determining the Eligibility of Gujarat state’s candidates for Assistant Professor in universities and colleges of Gujarat State.
Gujarat State Eligibility Test qualified candidates shall be eligible to apply for Assistant Professor and will be governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor of the concerned Colleges/Universities/State Government of Gujarat concerned.
GSET Examination consists of two papers. Both papers consist of only objective questions and are held in two separate sessions, as laid out below.

In the first session, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda will hold Paper I. Whereas Paper II will take place in the second session.
- Both papers are of 3 hours duration.
- Paper 1 is going to be of a general nature. The aptitude for teaching/research will be assessed accordingly. There will be questions about reasoning skills, understanding, divergent thinking, and general awareness. It should be noted that only 50 questions will be mandatory.
- Paper 2 has questions on the subject selected by the candidate, all of which will be substantially compulsory.
- There were no negative marks for incorrect answers
- There is no provision of re-evaluations of papers.
Gujarat SET Hall Ticket 2020
Candidates have to download the hall ticket before the exam. State agency, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, has released Gujarat SET 2020 Hall Ticket 7 days prior to Examination day. No Gujarat SET hall ticket will be sent to the candidates by post. Applicants should download their Hall Ticket from the website to determine the location of the GSET Examination as indicated in the Hall Ticket and appear in the examination only at the designated examination center. No candidate would be allowed to appear at the examination center other than that assigned to him/her in the Hall Ticket.
Gujarat SET Answer Key 2020
The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (M.S. University) as state agency has declared the GSET Answer Key 2020 on the official portal at gujaratset.ac.in. However, some coaching centers also release unofficial keys after the conduction of the exam. Candidates can refer to GSET 2020 Answer Key to know correct answers. Gujarat SET Result 2020
To qualify for the State Eligibility Test, the candidate must obtain a cut-off mark and be at the top 15 percent in the subject and category of wise merit list. The result of Gujarat SET 2020 is declared a few weeks after the exam. Candidates can simply log in to check the result. Details of the cut-off marks and preparation of the merit list are stated below.
Step I: The number of candidates to be qualified for Assistant Professor shall be equal to 6 percent of the candidates appearing in both GSET papers.
Step II: Total slots shall be allocated to different categories in accordance with the Gujarat Government’s policy of reservation.
Step III: To be considered eligible for Assistant Professor, the candidate must appear in both papers and obtain at least 40 percent aggregate marks in both papers for General (Unreserved) candidates and at least 35 percent aggregate marks in both papers for all candidates in the reserved categories visz., SC, ST, PWD(PH/VH), SEBC (belonging to Non-Creamy Layer) and Transgender.
